5G networks can significantly benefit from observability, an approach to network intelligence that differs from conventional monitoring. What are its advantages? Why is it easier to maintain complex distributed systems using modern, open-source tools? Get answers to these questions (and many more) in an on-demand Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) webinar where our systems engineers Sławomir Bednarczyk and Jakub Kokoszka share real-world experiences from Software Mind’s #5G Lab environment. ▶️ Watch here: https://lnkd.in/dcz3Di3t #NetworkObservability #NetworkMonitoring #5GLab #CNCF

I recommend today reading this retrospective from Partha Ranganathan and Urs Hölzle on the Warehouse-Scale Computing over the last 25 years. It is not only a fantastic read, but also a testament of the incredible legacy that Luiz André Barroso left. Refer as well to the book "The Datacenter as a Computer" (SLCA/Springer, 2019) for more details. The concept of warehouse-scale computers is alive and well and has become more important than ever with the wider deployment of large AI models. The paper:

💡 Did you know? 💡 Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) has emerged as the dominant protocol for high-performance storage. NVMe SSDs, with their direct connection to the PCIe bus, deliver significantly lower latency and higher I/O operations per second (IOPS) compared to earlier storage interfaces. This shift has redefined the possibilities for data-intensive applications. simplyblock is leveraging NVMe-of standard to deliver reliable and fast storage system in the cloud environments while drastically reducing cost of performance for data-intensive applications and databases.
