Today is the last day of Deaf Awareness Month (September). Here is a little fact that you may not know about deaf people so be mindful when you have a deaf employee in the workplace. Hearing people do not understand why Deaf people are sometimes exhausted after a long day of lipreading/ or watching ASL (interpreters). A one or two hour meetings can be exhausting to us, but not to you. Have you ever thought why? It is because, ears do not have muscles, but the eyes have muscles. Our eyes are our ears and we have to constantly watch and watch...and use our eyes to listen...which uses muscles, non stop. #deaf #deafawarenessmonth #disability #DEI #Diversity

This week is Deafblind Awareness Week. As being deafblind doesn’t necessarily mean that people are completely deaf and/or blind, there are many factors to consider to ensure that the 450,000 people in the UK can access and interact with your digital content.
