“The power of collaboration is extremely beautiful…being able to tell these stories allows people to see that Indigenous cultures are still here and are still thriving." – Naiomi Glasses, Ralph Lauren’s inaugural Artist in Residence Yesterday, #RLArtistInResidence Naiomi Glasses, Head of Design with Intent Sasha Kelly and Chief Product Officer Halide Alagöz spoke on a panel moderated by Fast Company’s Elizabeth Segran, Ph.D., at #GlobalFashionSummit. They discussed the journey to launching the Polo Ralph Lauren x Naiomi Glasses Collection and our model for mutually-beneficial cultural collaboration. The conversation spoke to how Ralph Lauren's philosophy of timelessness – which is at the heart of our design ethos – is deeply connected to our work to ensure traditional crafts and the communities who sustain them live on. 2wThis was a month ago but still one of my favourite collaborations to date. Social impact matters and it is great to see RL work with indigenous Americans when RL is considered the epitome of "Classic" and "America". Genius but more importantly, touching and connected. Naomi did a spectacular job and I am looking forward to a world where I can adorn more culturally conscious pieces from impactful luxury brands with large platforms.
