It was during my first internship at Snackible, where I learnt about my passion. Snackible was a budding venture in the world of healthy snacking when I joined them as a Business Development Associate intern.  Over the course of six months, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the art of client acquisition and retention.  My role involved convincing clients to try Snackible's products and purchase their assorted hampers.  Little did I know that I would be working with renowned brands there, securing orders for 200-400 hampers filled with nutritious snacks for their employees or festive occasions.  It was an incredible experience to witness the positive impact of our offerings on the well-being of these corporate communities.Beyond just sales, I gained invaluable insights into the importance of exceptional customer service.  From onboarding clients to managing their needs and delivering a seamless experience, I learned the intricacies of cultivating long-lasting relationships with consumers. Snackible taught me the fundamentals of business development, instilling in me an appreciation for the food industry that has only grown stronger over time.  It was during this internship that I discovered my true passion for the world of food and the impact it can have on people's lives. Although I have since pursued other internships with companies like McCain, my experience at Snackible remains the most cherished and formative of them all. It was here that I learned the art of client acquisition, the value of customer service, and the joy of working in an industry that nourishes both body and soul. As my work term comes to a close this week with Cedar Fair Entertainment at Kings Island as a Workforce Management Industrial Engineering Intern, I am thankful for the opportunity presented to me this summer to learn not only the unique ways in which I can apply my education, but also learn a lot about myself. Over the course of my term, I was tasked with evaluating Food & Beverage business units in the park, including their opening and closing procedures, staffing counts, facility layout, production, transaction and wait times. By observing day to day operations and completing time studies, we were able to generate new opening and closing flowcharts and task lists and make recommendations to the Workforce Management and Food & Beverage Departments in how the stands could continue to produce quality food options and a fun guest experience while maintaining an efficient stand and saving labor costs. All of the data and observations collected will be able to help our department with volume forecasting models in the future. I also completed seven credit hours of professional development through the Kings Island Intern program in behind the scenes tours, leadership, empowerment, and budgeting. One of my biggest projects this summer was creating and completing time studies on transaction and production times in the stands. From calculating how many data points would be need to be collected to be statistically significant to timing all of those tasks to creating control charts in Excel for all the points and evaluating them, I got to pull together a lot of technical skills and concepts learned at school which was great to practice and see put to use. My favorite part of this experience was all of the different people I got to interact and work with. Going into a business unit with a lot of established associates and first meeting them was nerve-racking, especially when evaluating the work they were doing. Letting them know how our work was helping them to find faster and easier ways to do their job was very helpful to my work, but also pushed me to be more outgoing, ask lots of questions and foster relationships with many different people. I will be able to use these skills in my personal and work life for years to come. My main takeaway from this summer is that there is room to learn and grow in any environment. I've never seen myself working at a theme park, and in the beginning of the summer I was super nervous about meeting new people and that I wouldn't like my job at all. However, I still learned a lot this summer about how to apply my education and many other skills like teamwork, time management, and effective communication. I'm looking forward to heading back to school in the fall and learning even more about the Industrial Engineering field and where it will take me next. And today I completed my internship at Speciality Restaurants Pvt. Ltd!!✨✨ It was a pleasurable time with my boss and her team where I learnt a lot of new things. A few takeaways from this 3 months food supply based internship are :- •Passion Fuels Success: Witnessing firsthand the dedication and drive of individuals in the food industry was an eye-opener. From chefs meticulously crafting dishes to managers navigating supply chain challenges, the passion for food permeated every aspect. This instilled in me the vital role of genuine enthusiasm in achieving success within this competitive field. •Adaptability is Key: The food industry is dynamic, facing fluctuations in trends, ingredients, and customer preferences. Observing how businesses adapted to these changes, from menu innovation to embracing online ordering, highlighted the importance of flexibility and responsiveness. This experience emphasized the need for lifelong learning and being open to new ideas to thrive in this ever-evolving landscape. •Customer Centricity Matters: Whether interacting with customers directly or observing behind-the-scenes efforts, understanding customer needs and exceeding expectations was paramount. Businesses prioritized creating positive dining experiences, offering personalized recommendations, and addressing feedback actively.
