🚨𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 The issue of Tech Facilitated Gender Based Violence (TFGBV) is not confined to isolated incidents and permeates various aspects of our digital lives. This is why combating TFGBV requires adopting a holistic perspective that involves multiple stakeholders. Our policy framework will outline the roles and differentiated responsibilities of entities with a stake in online gender safety in India. It will have multiple stages - from preventing the harm from happening to stepping in when it does, helping those affected, and eventually learning from our experiences and improving actions based on past mistakes. At each step, different groups will take responsibility to make things better. The framework aims to convey that TFGBV can be better addressed through a spectrum of actions, ranging from prevention to in-depth research that enhances our understanding of survivors, damage, and recovery. Rather than pointing fingers at one group - the police, or the internet, we are bringing all the stakeholders together, to make it impactful and sustainable. The final report with the framework shall be published in October and till then we are inviting stakeholders across the board to share their insights that will inform our research.
