💥 One Acre Fund just launched its reinsurance fund for smallholder farmers in emerging markets. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬. 𝐈𝐬. 𝐍𝐨. 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥. 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐖𝐡𝐲? ▸ 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 As I understand it, this is the first reinsurance facility focused on agricultural microinsurance in emerging markets. ▸𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞 One Acre Fund represents 1 million insured smallholder farmers, growing to 4 million by 2030. ▸𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬: IFC, U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC), and the African Risk Capacity Group (ARC). ▸𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭?
