🌱🌍 Happy Global Recycling Day! Let's unite as #RecyclingHeroes and contribute to positive environmental change. By following a few simple tips, we can enhance our recycling efforts. ♻️ Before disposing of packaging, make sure it's empty and compressed to prevent contamination of other recyclables. Residual fat in plastics can hinder the recycling process, so keeping packaging clean is crucial. ♻️ Avoid #wishcycling by only recycling materials that are suitable. Putting non-recyclable items in recycling bins can disrupt the entire recycling process. ♻️ Separate materials when necessary, if packaging consists of multiple materials. Items like laminated paper cannot be recycled and should be disposed of in the general waste bin. ♻️ Make eco-conscious choices while shopping by opting for products with minimal packaging or those made from sustainable materials to minimize #waste. ♻️ Spread #awareness among your circles. Share recycling #tips and information with friends and family to encourage responsible recycling practices. Together, we can make a difference! 🌱 Sustainable innovation in pellet packaging! 🔄 As part of our efforts towards a green circular economy, Mercer Torgau has successfully switched to recycled plastic film. Our pellets, known for their sustainability and efficiency, are now packaged in thin 70 μm PCR film - an important step towards reducing plastic waste. Plastic recycling challenges are well known, but by partnering with companies like Verpa Folie, we have found a reliable supplier. Their innovative concept not only enables film waste to be returned to the material cycle but also offers the opportunity to increase the recycling rate further. This is not only environmentally friendly but also effective: the thinner film does not compromise product protection. Extensive testing confirms that our biofuels continue to be optimally protected from contamination and moisture during transportation. We are proud to do our part for a more sustainable future and will continue to look for ways to minimize our environmental footprint.
