Hello LinkedIn community.! "Exciting Project: Simulating Box Sorting Based on Height Using FactoryIO and Workbench Simulation! I recently had the opportunity to learn the basic concepts of workbench software where I also work on a fascinating project involving FactoryIO and Workbench simulation. The goal was to create a system for sorting boxes by their heights. Here's how it worked: 1. Loading: Boxes were loaded onto the entry conveyor with a simple press of the start button. 2. Sorting Process: As the boxes traveled across the conveyor system, we implemented an area scanner equipped with four sensors - Pallet, Low, High, and Very High. These sensors accurately detected the height of each box. 3. Conveyor Separation: Based on the height data collected, we used a chain transfer mechanism to separate the boxes onto two different conveyors. Boxes with lower heights were directed to the left conveyor, while taller boxes were directed to the right conveyor. This project was not only a technical challenge but also a fantastic opportunity to showcase the power of FactoryIO and Workbench simulation in real-world applications. Completed Control Design Onramp provided by MathWorks. This course taught me how to linearize non-linear models, which is an important ability for understanding and analyzing complex non-linear systems. In addition, the course explores into the world of PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controllers, providing useful insights into their use and it's tuning. This introduction to PID controllers provided me with the knowledge and abilities required to properly construct a control system.
