How should Australia grow its quantum sector? Register below to provide input on Australia's $40m Critical Technologies Challenge Program via three online workshops: Tuesday 29th, Wednesday 30th, and Thursday 31st August.  The Critical Technologies Challenges Program offers $40m grant funding to address significant national challenges using quantum technologies, (potentially in combination with robotics and artificial intelligence) and drive cooperation and collaboration among researchers, start-ups and the Australian community.

Data centers are struggling with the speed and bandwidth required by AI applications, and need a major upgrade. Quintessent Inc. is building quantum dot laser based silicon photonics that should help resolve a major part of this bottle neck. Below is an excerpt from an interview with founder Alan Liu that gives a good history of photonics and a look into the next generation of networking technologies.
