Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we pause to honour and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous communities. This day is more than a recognition—it is a call to action for each of us to acknowledge the deep connections and invaluable wisdom that Indigenous peoples bring to our societies. As a company, we understand the importance of this day and strive to foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and learning. We are committed to supporting Indigenous voices and initiatives through actionable steps. Yesterday, Quadra had a company-wide fireside chat with Garett Cochrane, a proud born and raised 2SLGBTQ Metis Yellowknifer who is currently serving as Deputy Mayor of Yellowknife. Garett spoke candidly about the challenges still being faced by Indigenous communities, and the actions needed to drive change. At Quadra, we are committed to helping drive the change Garett spoke about in the following ways: Support and Empowerment: We actively seek partnerships with Indigenous businesses and communities, promoting sustainable economic opportunities that honour traditional knowledge and practices. Education and Awareness: We encourage our team members to educate themselves about Indigenous histories and contemporary issues, and we are incorporating discussions such as our fireside chat to help broaden everyone’s knowledge. Sustainable Practices: Recognizing the profound environmental stewardship of Indigenous peoples, we are deepening our commitment to sustainable practices that reflect respect for the land and its resources. Advocacy and Representation: We are dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices within our organization and the broader community, ensuring representation and advocacy in our policies and initiatives. Today, let’s all take a moment to reflect on the resilience, strength, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. Let’s commit to being allies in the journey toward reconciliation, understanding, and mutual respect. #indigenouspeoplesday #quadragroup #bequadra

Award-winning author, speaker and advocate who delivers impactful and inspirational keynotes and programming to amplify the voices of women in all their diversity to make Canada more equitable and democratic
The question all settlers might ask ourselves on #RedDressDay is "what steps are we taking to #redress the wrongs that helped to create the circumstances that allowed #MMIWG2S to happen in the first place?"
Today is Red Dress Day, a day devoted to remembering, honouring, and advocating on behalf of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQ people. Inspired by Jamie Black, a Métis artist from Manitoba who hung hundreds of red dresses in public to represent MMIWG2S , this day raises awareness about the disproportionate violence that Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people face in Canada. Five years after the final report on MMIWG, the crisis persists. On Red Dress Day and beyond, let’s stand in solidarity, honour the lives lost, and demand action. Together, we can create a safe future for all Indigenous people. If you want to learn more about this crisis, visit Safe Passage, our initiative that monitors and provides resources on MMIWG2S : https://bit.ly/3wp27Xt #RedDressDay #MMIWG #MMIWG2S

Young people, in all their diversity, must be recognised as equal partners in decision-making about the future of the world they will inherit. The voices of young people, particularly women and girls with disabilities, are rarely present at decision making tables at all levels. As a result, decisions are not only made for young people and not by them but entirely without their knowledge. Young people are calling for equal access to opportunities. With 100 days to go to the #SummitOfTheFuture, join our side event to call on world leaders to partner with youth with disabilities to jointly create inclusive solutions to the compounded challenges the world is facing. https://lnkd.in/edZ489Cx #EqualWorld #COSP17
