We started our careers together at Leo Burnett many, many years ago. And now Jeff McCrory is CSO at Mischief @ No Fixed Address (and, like, Global CSO of the universe or something like that 😂 ). What I've always loved about Jeff is his tell-it-like-it-is pragmatism, combined with his pure love of advertising, and that wonderful glint in the eye mischieviousness he brings to every conversation (I guess his current role is VERY on-brand). Whether you work in #advertising, #marketing or just would love another take on the business value of #creativity (especially with stats like "people say 80% of #brands in the world could disappear and they wouldn't care"), this episode of Fergus O'Carroll's On Strategy Showcase is worth a listen. We've been involved in some competitive pitches this year at Hello Earth A couple of months ago we were up against 9 other agencies...... On the much more competitive side, but surprisingly not the biggest we’ve been asked to pitch for.  The most competitive by far…….being up against 19 other agencies across the US, Canada & Europe 🤯 Sounds exhausting I know! More recently we’re about to onboard a brand who apart from us, spoke to a grand total of…..0 other agencies. Why? Because of trust. They’ve already seen first-hand the results we have delivered for another successful DTC brand and the ways we operate across a number of different channels. I'm definitely not against competitive pitches, infact I'd welcome them…..there’s some incredible agencies out there….and I’d back our team up against anyone. But imagine the amount of hours that could be saved for brands and across the industry if some of the pitch processes were reduced? Maybe it's not absolutely necessary to invite as many as 10-20 different teams to put forward a proposal. #performancemarketing #digitalagency #dtcbrands
