Researchers have explored the impact of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) on gene expression in healthy aging adults, revealing some intriguing insights into potential benefits that could be associated with this therapy. The study suggests that HBOT may have a regulatory effect on gene expression, pointing towards possible anti-inflammatory effects, and contributing to cellular regeneration and tissue repair. Moreover, the observed changes in gene expression hint at potential cognitive benefits, aligning with a previous study indicating cognitive improvement in the aging population undergoing HBOT. This suggests that the therapy could have positive implications for cognitive function. While the study provides exciting insights, it's important to note the need for further research and clinical trials to validate these findings and establish causal relationships. Nevertheless, these initial observations open doors to exploring the multifaceted benefits of HBOT in the context of healthy aging. HBOT induces gene expression. In 2021 Hadanny reported that HBOT was found to induce messenger RNA molecule changes in whole-blood samples from healthy aging subjects.
