The Big Table Group Announces Acquisition Of Trg’s Leisure Division The Big Table Group, the operator of Las Iguanas, Bella Italia, Banana Tree, Café Rouge and Amalfi, has announced the acquisition of The Restaurant Group’s Leisure Division. The division includes the brands Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito, Firejacks, Coast To Coast, Filling Station and EST, which now takes The Big Table Group to operating over 220 restaurants across the UK. The make-up of the leisure division as a whole complements The Big Table Group’s existing portfolio, operating across both the family and experiential dining markets. The deal is expected to complete at the end of October 2023. Commenting on the acquisition, Alan Morgan, Chief Executive Officer, The Big Table Group, said: “Creating, developing and acquiring brands that complement our existing portfolio whilst offering widespread consumer appeal is a fundamental part of our growth strategy. This exciting acquisition forms part of that strategy and we are delighted to be welcoming this new team in to The Big Table Group.” Last year, The Big Table – which is backed by leading private equity group Epiris – announced the acquisition of Banana Tree, as part of its ongoing growth. Roseville sports and entertainment complex breaks ground near Galleria The project, Roseville Junction, is an entertainment destination that will include hotels, restaurants, pickleball courts, a beer garden and more. The new sports and entertainment complex in Roseville broke ground Thursday near the Westfield Galleria. The project, Roseville Junction, will include hotels, restaurants, pickleball courts, a beer garden and more, according to project developer LRE & Companies. “I’m thrilled that we can start 2024 with a green light to move forward, signaling to the community that this will be the future home of something amazing,” said Akki Patel, CEO of LRE & Companies, in a press release. “The city of Roseville has been an amazing partner throughout the process, and we are grateful to be part of this growing community.” Roseville Junction is located at 290 Conference Center Drive next to Highway 65 and near a popular shopping destination. “It’s great to see the progress we’re making,” said Victor Chiang, VP of development at LRE & Companies, in a statement. “When we first assessed the site, the first thing we noticed was its outstanding location. It’s centrally situated amongst so much amazing retail, including Westfield Galleria, The Fountains and Creekside Town Center. With so much retail surrounding us, there’s plenty of opportunity to attract shoppers from all over. Roseville Junction is the perfect place for them to connect and gather, enjoy the California sunshine, grab a bite to eat and raise a glass.” LRE & Companies previously told ABC10 that Electric Pickle and Social Connection will be the first two projects to be built. Electric Pickle is an entertainment complex with 10 pickleball courts, a bocce ball court and dining venues. Electric Pickle an entertainment complex with pickleball courts along with a two-story restaurant and bar will include an approximately 8,000-square-foot venue that is set to have 10 pickleball courts, a bocce ball court and dining venues. We talk a lot about the missed opportunity at stadiums, but it's likely to broad a statement to be actionable. Because while the top level statement is certainly true, the impact on decision-making per stadium should be different, because each case is, in fact, different. There are some that have high percentages of visitors going to dining locations pre or post event, and others with far less. This might indicate an opportunity for more in-stadium or on premise dining options before and after in certain cases. In others, it's more of a retail opportunity as the stadium sits in much greater proximity to other eateries. The takeaway? A broader statement still requires refinement when applying on a more focused level. It's true in stadiums and it's true in many - if not most - other cases as well.
