🌟 Exciting News Alert! 🌟 Yesterday marked a monumental day as we joined forces with Accenture to tackle the ever-important issue of social mobility. 🚀 The response was phenomenal, with a diverse crowd from seasoned professionals to dynamic undergraduates joining the movement! 🙌 A heartfelt THANK YOU to every one of you who brought your energy and insights to our sessions. Your participation in the discussions and exercises was a real game-changer. 💪 🔊 Over the past three months, we've engaged with over 150 community members, delving deep into the hurdles that obstruct their dreams and social advancement. The stories shared revealed a common thread of challenges, which we at BMT are committed to addressing. 🛠 Introducing "Your Journey" – our newly developed framework, designed to dissect these challenges and chart a course towards achieving personal goals. This tool is key to unlocking your vision and purpose, guiding you to realise it. During the workshop, this framework transformed theory into action, as participants applied "Your Journey" to map out their obstacles and devise strategies for overcoming them. The power of sharing and feedback transformed the room into a cauldron of support and inspiration. 💡✨ But the highlight? Witnessing the magic of community support. The eagerness to lift each other shone through, illuminating the true essence of social mobility: it's not solely about advancing our journey but also paving the way for others at the crossroads. 🤝 Together, we're not just moving forward; we're uplifting everyone in our path. Let's continue to build bridges, share our stories, and create a ripple effect of positive change. 🌊 Finally, BMT would like to thank Annam Khan and Waleed Khan for organising this event. We also would like to extend our regards to Bally Chahal and Sandip Bulsara who shared their inspirational journeys and gave valuable insights to our community. #SocialMobility #Partnership #CommunityPower #YourJourney #Empowerment #Innovation #TogetherWeCan

5 inspirational thoughts from my friend Emma Mclean on #workingparents #parentsatwork
Part Time Power List | Speaker | Executive Coach | NZ's Working Parent Expert | Swiftie | Mum of 3 Teenagers | Podcast Host of How To Smash the Motherhood Penalty
International Women's Day continues for me! I was lucky enough to be invited to Accenture UK's IWD event today at The Roundhouse, Chalk Farm in London. 20 years ago I worked for Accenture so it was a little like back to the future for me. And I still knew some people there! Most of all it was fabulous to spend the day with Accenture's Zoë Kibbey and Sevasti Wong, both of whom I count as exceptional leaders making a difference as well as my special friends. Five takeaways from me that I wanted to share: 1) Today we are living in a system that does not work for all. The opportunity with AI and the tipping point of human evolution is that we can write the source code for the future. 2) Find people that believe in you. 3) Get used to saying no. You can do anything, not everything. 4) The power of a second innings. In your second innings you will bat with more experience, have lost more than you have won and will be batting for those that are to come after you. 5) Be the bird that sings in the darkness because they can sense that the dawn is coming. Strength comes from the collective. Amazing day and feeling very grateful to be taking these learnings and so much more back to NZ and to my clients. #workingparents #parentsatwork #worksforeveryone #IWD2024

CEO | Country Manager | Talent management | Tech enthusiast | Social Responsibility Advocate | Green Advocate | Culture & People | Gamer for mental health
Reading Shaheen Sayed’s update on joining Movement to Work’s Steering Group, it felt like she was echoing my own thoughts and experiences. It’s all about breaking that familiar ‘no experience, no job’ cycle, something I’ve lived through myself. Back when I graduated, the job scene was like a paradox. You know the drill – every role wanting years of experience you don’t have straight out of uni 😓. I was in that boat, ready to row but no water in sight. 😂 Then, one company took a chance on me – zero experience but tons of enthusiasm. It was a total life – changer for me. Now, at 29 and making my mark in the professional world, I carry that lesson with me. In my hiring decisions, I prioritize a candidate’s attitude and eagerness to learn over their years of experience. Skills can be taught, but attitude? That’s something you bring to the table. It’s about seeing the potential that doesn’t yet show on paper. Shaheen’s work in providing inclusive employment opportunities, especially considering the evolving landscape with Generation AI, is incredibly inspiring. It reinforces my belief that we need to give young talent a platform to shine, to bring their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the forefront. So, to all the young professionals out there, keep pushing. Your ‘yes’ moment is closer than you think. And to my peers in hiring positions – let’s focus on potential, not just paper qualifications. Let’s build a future where talent and willingness are the real currencies. #Leadership #Liderazgo #Innovation #Innovación #Inclusion #Inclusión #SocialMobility. 🔥
I couldn’t be more delighted this week to have joined Movement to Work as a Steering Group Member representing Accenture UK & Ireland Over 794,000 16–24-year-olds are ‘not in education, employment or training’ - a number which is rising and challenging efforts to improve #SocialMobility in the UK. With a mission to break the cycle of ‘no experience, no job; no job, no experience’, Movement to Work brings together UK employers, youth outreach organisations, training providers and government, to tackle youth unemployment and create more inclusive and diverse workplaces. Along with @Accenture and other employers, the Movement has delivered over 170,000 work experience opportunities to date. Collaboration is key to tackling society-wide shared challenges like youth unemployment, and #UKBusiness is on the case. On Tuesday I joined my first meeting, discussing how to continue to offer more #inclusive employment opportunities for young people facing barriers to work, including the impact and opportunities that #GenAI will present for the future of work and entry level jobs. I look forward to working together Dr. Charles Woodburn (BAE Systems), Emma Taylor (Tesco), Debbie Alder CB Chartered CCIPD (Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)), Jonathan Townsend (The Princes Trust), Olly Benzecry CBE (Shaw Trust), Zahra Bahrololoumi CBE (Salesforce) @Nuno Teles (Diageo) Andrew Mines (Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology), Tristram Roberts (Barclays), Sacha Berendji (Marks and Spencer), James McCann (Accenture), Gillian Churchill (BAE Systems).

Happiness Consultant & Life Coach | I am here to support you with your inner healing journey & your purpose unlock
We hosted a #PeopleOfDetermination panel discussion at Accenture Middle East this week alongside some of our Corporate Citizenship and Social Responsibilty partner NPO’s. I appreciate and value checking my thinking and for remaining curious, as the intention is to seek to better understand. Here’s an interesting test to take: https://lnkd.in/dcTUfNqT Our differences shouldn’t divide us, but to understand that these differences are necessary to build a better today and tomorrow. True diversity and inclusion provides the opportunity for innovation, creativity, profitability, and growth. And this is everyone’s responsibility in understanding we all have a part to play. Each of us as human beings have unique gifts and are able to give back positively. We all have the ability and capacity to treat one another with kindness, respect, love, joy, understanding, honesty, trust (if you choose to). What are the safe spaces you create for yourself and those around you to thrive. What drives your humanity and for how you see and treat your fellow human being. Deeper still, why does it drive you. These are questions I ask myself regularly. By deeply listening to those around me each one’s journey and perspective has taught me something powerful - this is my human experience and how I prefer to learn, and my ideas for how to continue to give back. Love and listening heals make no mistake about that. My purpose is clear and I’m grateful for what my past has taught, for what my present is, and for what my future holds. I see you my fellow human being. Well done Naila Al Moosawi, Begoña Águeda C. de Albornoz, Samar AlAmro and all teams involved for the educational and introspective organized session. To learning, to positive growth, and to #LetThereBeChange.
