I am proud to announce that I have completed my Master's degree in Information Security (Cyber Security) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). A journey marked with perseverance and dedication has brought me to this milestone, and I am grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way. 🎯 Now, I have my sights set on new challenges – the world of professional cyber security. As an industry marked by constant evolution, I am excited to apply my academic knowledge in a practical setting. Last week, I wrote about the cybersecurity skill gap emerging in the APAC region and the problems this creates. It’s great to see countries like #Singapore recognizing the issue, and tackling it head on.   The Singapore Computer Society is creating a new skills pathway to encourage more people to pursue a career in the cybersecurity field. This is a great first step in addressing this 2.5 million worker skill gap. But while organizations wait for the results of this initiative in the interim, it’s critical that they remain vigilant and find additional options to bolster their defenses.   https://lnkd.in/gU6_yyki   #Cybersecurity

Being on the ground as a security student provides a firsthand understanding of security dynamics that cannot be replicated through textbooks or lectures alone. It offers a unique opportunity to engage with diverse stakeholders, observe security challenges in real-time, and gain insights from multiple perspectives. Each perspective offers valuable insights into different aspects of security, highlighting nuances and intricacies that may not be apparent from a distance. As a student, I have traversed paths that have lead me to destinations I never envisioned and introduced me to individuals I never anticipated meeting and each interaction has brought forth new perspectives, insights, and collaborations that have enriched my academic and personal growth.
