The Business Events industry will continue to be a major contributor to Singapore's tourism performance. Events ranging from corporate meetings, workshops and conferences, all the way to conventions and tradeshows. I have had the opportunity to see (especially from my years as a business events manager) how the coming together of professionals and business executives generate high levels of collaborative initiatives, business development, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for individuals to grow professionally. One of Singapore Tourism Board's newer videos is a great reflection of how impactful business events can be: https://lnkd.in/gKS3Ti3c I do, however, have one caveat. Our tourism industry cannot just rely on Business Events to drive performance. As a destination, we need to be continually looking at how we create and curate new and desired experiences that bring meaning and aspirational fulfilment to potential visitors. Although small, we do have greenfield spaces in Singapore for the development of such products. This requires immediate attention as time is required to develop and build these experience offerings. BUT the Business Events industry is going to remain strong for Singapore!!!

🇫🇷 Discovering International Opportunities with Business France 🇫🇷 At the ProPak Asia 2024 exhibition, held in Bangkok on June 13th, I had the opportunity to meet with Business France and their French Pavilion. I had the chance to talk with Clémentine Roche, Project Manager of the French Pavilion, who explained the role of Business France, especially at international trade shows. Indeed, at international trade shows through the French Pavilions, Business France ensures: - Coordination: Organizing and coordinating the presence of French companies. - Visibility: Grouping the stands under a common banner for greater visibility. - Logistics: Managing the booking and installation of spaces. - Promotion: Showcasing French products and services. - Networking: Facilitating meetings with buyers and partners. - Support: Providing assistance before, during, and after the event. - Training: Offering workshops to optimize participation. I also had the opportunity to discuss the VIE program with Gael Bensoussen, Trade Advisor at Business France. The VIE program allows young French people aged 18 to 28 to undertake assignments abroad for French companies for a period of 6 months to 2 years. This meeting was very informative and pivotal for my career. The commitment of Business France to support French companies internationally and the opportunities offered by the VIE program are remarkable.
