The 2024 Global Communication report, “The Balancing Act” breaks down industry research on stakeholder fluency and the issues organizations face when communicating with stakeholders. The first step in the balancing act is to gauge stakeholder expectations. For PR professionals, our research found that only 16% felt that the country was headed in the right direction. Politics also plays a factor in the country’s direction, and our research found that Democrats were more positive across the board. Edelman trust barometer 2024 takeaways: ▫️Trust for governments and media is declining. ▫️CEOs are expected to manage chalenges in society, not just those occurring in their business. ▫️The least trusted category are officials, the most — scientists. In case you need any more evidence that the #PR industry was and continues to be a major force for #climate denialism and delay, look no further than the biggest name in the industry, Edelman. A dishonest, double-dealing, overhyped institution that represents the worst aspects of our profession. It's time to leave Edelman and all the other #bigoil shills in the past and use #PR and #strategiccommunications for climate progress. Big thanks to The Guardian and Clean Creatives for exposing Edelman's duplicity yet again.
🔎 The Edelman Trust Barometer is an annual survey by Edelman, conducted for more than 20 years, to study ‘the influence of trust across society’. Their survey measures the public's trust in four institutions of government, business, media, and NGOs.
