#microbulk #CO2 Many companies with urgent needs for dry ice just in small or moderate quantities could produce their own dry ice on site. They could get the necessary liquid CO2 supplied in portable tanks (microbulk) as the one on the video. It is certainly a logistical challenge for CO2 suppliers, to get these portable tanks delivered, exchanged and re-filled. Such a challenge is certainly reflected in the cost per delivered kg or pound of liquid CO2; hence it is probably not so cheap to produce dry ice with this kind of set up. However, for many users the alternative of not having the dry ice when strictly needed is even more expensive. Sometimes it's even fatal. We are talking about companies and institutions within the #lifescience sector. These could be needing dry ice just in time for pulverization of tissue samples, for the delivery of life saving #clinicalsamples, etc. Dry ice is also needed for urgent or unplanned delivery of #perishables , #foodsamples, fish, ice cream, etc) And off course... if somebody needs to carry out a #dryiceblasting job in the middle of nowhere: why not make good quality and high density dry ice pellets on site, instead of bringing along containers filled up with bad and old dry ice manufactured far away, several days ago, and in quantities that are much larger than what you effectively needed?
