We are all part of many communities – those that we simply acknowledge the presence of, those that we are heavily committed to and invested in, and those that are somewhere in between. Bringing awareness and clarity to the broader purpose and intent behind our communities can ground us in our authentic selves. Check out my May '24 blog https://wix.to/fEOEkWr

https://lnkd.in/exebf8NQ I have been doing a lot of work lately on helping a deeper and wider sense of the potential role of community to emerge in the context of facing the challenges of these times as well as we can. As is often the case, Charles Eisenstein is ahead on the path, putting language on things I am feeling, but not quite able to find the words for yet. Have a look at the short video and see if it does anything for you. And if you want to continue exploring the role of community in these times, maybe consider this community as a place you could do so.... https://lnkd.in/e2SAdq6i None of us should be alone facing unprecedented challenges.

Such an important message. 🙌 Anti-bullying. Expressing such an important topic with passion, diversity and team spirit. This is so important. We need to talk, open up and enable everyone to have a safe space to talk and feel safe. 💚 #antibullying#standuptobullies

NEW #TuesdayTips! Yesterday here in the USA it was Dr.Martin Luther King Day, which is a big volunteer "Day of Service" with thousands of events across the country. These tips are good for evaluating any kind of group volunteer service day, wherever you are in the world. After any big volunteer event you should do an evaluation of the activity with feedback from all participants, with a "Plus/Delta Debrief". "Plus/Delta" evaluation and/or survey questions should be specific to the objectives and goals of the event, and my tips include a few basic ideas to get you started, and more resource links. I also highlight the wonderful work on the topic of "MLK Days of Service" from Breauna Dorelus, MPA, with links in the video description to her Engage article and webinar available on her own website, Connecting the Cause. Links to my Priceless Advice and TuesdayTips conversation with Breauna are at the end of the video, so check those out, too! #LeadersOfVolunteers #MLKDayOfService #DEIAJ #CommunityEngagement #SocialJustice

We unite, chant, and celebrate every victory, big or small. Whether it’s a sports win or a national achievement, the collective joy is palpable. Yet, why do we often remain silent in the face of wrongdoing? The bystander effect—when the presence of others discourages an individual from intervening in an emergency situation—prevents us from taking action when it truly matters. We see something wrong, but assume someone else will step in, and in the end, no one does. It's time to channel the same energy and unity we exhibit during celebrations to stand against crime and injustice. Let's not be mere spectators in the face of adversity. Every voice and action counts. Together, we can make a difference. Let's break the cycle of the bystander effect and be proactive in creating a safer community for all. #BystanderEffect #CommunitySafety #safetogether
