I was the guest speaker in BCCI British Chamber of Commerce and Industry last month where I talked about the reinvention of STEM education in the world. My talk is mostly highlighted into these three aspects 1. Why for STEM education brick and mortar system of traditional education is not enough and how we can go beyond the current standards in the next paradigm shift happening in STEM education 2. The aspect of Research in STEM education. In my personal knowledge, most EdTech companies spend large amount of money and resource in the research. 3. Education should be Scam Free. https://lnkd.in/eHsca7gB This is the presentation that I used made using Storydoc. I hope you like it. 😏 https://lnkd.in/eab8P4bd

STEM Center Director | developing change-makers | bridging formal and informal STEM education | growing reciprocal partnerships
The interest I have received in learning more about the K-5 STEM partnership between JMU students and our local Boys & Girls Club is encouraging and exciting. I recently took time to combine and organize this work on the page linked below. The lessons are currently under review by a pair of K-5 teachers (general and EL) to improve consistency with what and how the children are learning in school. Once that process is complete, I will happily share the 10-week curriculum on the same webpage. This will include all facilitator training documents and tutorials, materials, and other helpful resources. To answer common questions I've received related to feasibility of adopting these learning experiences for the formal classroom, teacher PD, and differently-structured informal programs: (1) each lesson has been scaled to run with 16 groups of 5-6 children and 2-3 facilitators, (2) the facilitator training materials developed for each lesson are aimed at college students who may not have had a science class since high school (because some of ours have not), and (3) most materials needed for the activities are every-day, low-cost, and reusable. *This is NOT an invitation for marketing messages from STEM education vendors.
