How important is diversity for student success? 🌍 It's important to recognize that diversity can benefit not just the business world, but also schools and educational settings. Diverse schools can foster a greater sense of tolerance and understanding among students, which can have a positive impact on school culture and climate. A diverse faculty can create a more enriching learning environment and prepare students for success in an increasingly global society. 🤝 Research also shows that diverse schools can lead to increased academic achievement among students, which can be attributed in part to the positive impact of diverse teachers. 🔑 How does your school deal with diversity to create a more effective and inclusive learning environment for students? Amidst the education landscape, where equity and inclusion are indispensable cornerstones, I recently had the opportunity to attend ClassLink's Linking Leaders: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Summit in Atlanta. ClassLink, an unwavering ally in the pursuit of equity within education, stands at the forefront of fostering inclusive environments. By curating spaces like the Linking Leaders Summit, they fortify the platform for leaders like myself and many others to share experiences and insights to catalyze transformative change. I had the opportunity to network with trailblazers from the Atlanta metro and beyond (including Dania Peguero and Brandi Lee), who were united in their tireless efforts to cultivate equitable learning spaces. Their collective dedication resonates deeply, echoing the belief that every student and educator deserves an environment where they can thrive unimpeded by systemic barriers. Key learnings for sustainable DEIB initiatives: 1. Rethink how students and educators learn. 2. Leaders must create psychologically safe spaces. 3. Strategic plans lay the foundation for a lasting DEIB journey. The collective dedication inspired me to continue to pave a brighter, more equitable future for all learners and educators. #EquityInEducation #InclusionMatters #LinkingLeadersSummit QoreInsights Sakeenah Daniels, MPA Jamie Meola Saponaro, Rachel Van Aken, Jerri Kemble

QoreInsights is excited to work with our newest partner, ClassLink, as we create equitable learning experiences for students and educators. Equity is a "Qore" value for us. We close achievement and opportunity gaps by approaching equity from all aspects of our work. We are constantly working toward becoming a more diverse organization, even beyond race and gender, so we can continue to gain more insight into and build connections with the students, teachers, and administrators we serve. We developed the Classroom Education Plan (CEP) to create equity for teachers and students. CEP uses learning engineering and a decision support system to guide every teacher equitably to the most impactful evidence-based instructional methods to address whole-child student needs, including feelings of safety and internalizing behaviors. All strategies are academically rigorous and infused with tips from culturally relevant pedagogy and social-emotional learning experts to support and enhance every teacher and every student's learning experiences. We have embedded ongoing evaluation at every stage of the product lifecycle to identify and mitigate any bias that may introduced inadvertently. We know that having a scalable, technology-driven platform has great promise of closing achievement gaps. Still, if big data is not used responsibly, it can amplify inequity, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. These practices help to ensure that features, recommended implementation, and the use of data are representative and responsible. Through this level of representation, we can build more trust and commitment with the teachers and administrators we work with to engage in continuous improvement. We look forward to continuing to learn and grow. Join us as we build a better tomorrow for education! https://lnkd.in/dyy8RA4 #ClassroomEducationPlan #equity #deib #education

One of the number one questions I get about student employees is how to get students invested in the on-campus employment experience. I tried to answer that in something that is quick to read and actionable. Let me know your thoughts!
As you prepare to start over again in the Fall, have you thought about ways to encourage your student employees and to give and receive feedback? If you haven’t, or you aren’t sure where to start– you’ve come to the right place. https://lnkd.in/dTeqjD6s #avtweeps #highered #backtoschool Britt Yenser, CTS

Business, Communication & ESG Strategist | Environmental and Social Justice Advocate & Organizational Leader.
I just had a transformative experience at the "Leadership Lessons from a Life-Threatening Illness" webinar by Chip Espinoza, Ph.D. This session delves deep into leadership amidst life challenges, emphasizing three central themes: I am not invincible, I am assertive, and I am patient with myself. Dr. Espinoza's insights on assertiveness for career and wellness were motivational and offered actual leadership skills that can be applied in personal and professional situations. My key takeaways as a leader: Assertiveness and self-advocacy are vital. Faith and vocalizing your vision are transformative. Amidst challenges, embrace vulnerability; failures are powerful educators. Celebrate wins, however small. Keeping clear communication in transitions is a game-changer. I am currently living my season of patience, faith, and advocacy. I recommend this webinar; check out the UCLA Extension website for more resources. https://lnkd.in/g3UYHvVx #Leadership #PersonalGrowth #ReflectAndGrow

Did you see an increase in behavior referrals at your school this year? Here are 4️⃣ ideas to address challenging student behaviors through relationship-building from school leaders ⤵️ 1️⃣ Establish a staff absenteeism council These designated staff members on the council can identify students with chronic absenteeism and have regular meetings to discuss each student. The staff members can work to build personal connections with these students, get to know them, and visit their homes. 2️⃣ Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Bring professional development to staff on how to be a trauma-informed campus. This will help staff learn to better understand each student. You can also invite students to talk to the PBIS team, a staff group focused on systems change. 3️⃣ Consistently celebrate wins with students and staff Getting creative with how students are recognized and doing so consistently is another way to build relationships and address other student challenges. Some schools recognize students’ good behavior with a ticket system. Winners are entered into a regular raffle for fun reward items like chips or drinks. Another idea is to host monthly events and socials for staff to ensure strong connections are modeled from the leadership level. 4️⃣ Incorporate student voice Using our teacher-student connection builder is a good way to understand what’s important to each student. Educators can use these student insights to create opportunities on campus that will encourage motivation based on your school's unique needs. #SchoolLeaders #EdLeadership #EdTech
