A 2023 report from Opendorse suggests that only ~34% of NIL deals are awarded to female college athletes. A whopping 66% go to their male counterparts. That’s why today, amazing companies like SWAIR and Stakt have teamed up with MarketPryce to celebrate and support women in college sports. By connecting awesome athletes with awesome brands, we’re creating new opportunities for partnerships to unfold. Introductions and product samples give way to meaningful relationships that benefit athletes and brands alike. This work doesn’t end today, either. To date, half the athletes on MarketPryce are women, and we’re constantly working to ensure those women are getting their fair share of outreach. Because diversity isn’t just a day on a calendar. It’s not about increasing ad revenue or checking boxes. It’s about creating the society we want to live in. A huge thank you to SWAIR, Stakt, and all of the brands celebrating International Women’s Day with us. I’m so glad we can create a better world together.

This week, I started a summer temp position at UCL, my student card having only expired 7 days ago as I await results day in July and my graduation in September. While this achievement merits celebration in itself, today is a momentous occasion for another reason: I am 1000 days sober from alcohol. Some things you might not know about drinking culture in the UK: 🍺 The UK has the worst rate of childhood alcohol consumption in the world (WHO, 2024) 🍸1/6 LGBT people drink every day, in contrast to 1/10 of the general population (Stonewall, 2018) 🍷2024 saw the most people worldwide sign up to Dry January, indicating that many individuals are becoming sober-curious (Alcohol Change UK, 2024) I was having doubts as to whether this is an appropriate announcement to make on a platform like LinkedIn - sobriety doesn’t exactly scream “hire me!”. However, I do think it provides an opportunity to discuss a much needed topic, which is the role of alcohol in the workplace. Many workplace activities and social events are centred on alcohol. Here are some considerations that I believe employers and workplaces should make when organising events. 🥂Be inclusive to your employees and colleagues. One of the parts of my early sobriety was having those around me assume that I drink, even buying me drinks without having discussed it prior. Do not assume that everyone drinks alcohol! 🍹Do all your events need to take place in a pub or rooftop bar? While many employees may enjoy the opportunity to have a drink with colleagues, having every gathering in these spaces can isolate those who do not drink. Why not try implementing some variety with competitive team building activities? Many of these, like bowling or mini golf, may still take place in a space where drinks can be consumed, however drinking is not the entire purpose of the outing. 1000 days ago I decided to make a choice out of self love for my physical and mental health, my emotional wellbeing, and my future. It was one of the hardest but best decisions I ever made. Tonight I am celebrating by doing one scary thing (going to a group cycle class… wish me luck!) and treating myself to an evening of baking with my partner.

The Social Identity Wheel is a tool that helps us explore the different facets of our identities. It reminds us that we are all complex individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences. When we bring students and families along on this journey of self-discovery, the connections deepen and perspectives broaden. I am a Latina educator who immigrated to the United States as a child. I grew up in a working-class family and I had to learn a new language as well as a new culture when I came to the United States. I didn't always feel like my teachers understood my experiences. When I became an educator, I wanted to create a more inclusive environment where all students felt seen and heard. I started by using the Social Identity Wheel to understand that we all have more than one story. Using the Social Identity Wheel helped me to build stronger relationships with my students and their families. How can you use the Social Identity Wheel? The Social Identity Wheel can be used in many different ways. Here are a few ideas: 🔧 Use it as a tool for self-discovery. Reflect on your own identities and how they have shaped your life. 📚 Use it to learn more about others. Ask your friends, family, and colleagues to share their thoughts and feelings about their different identities. 👭 Use it to create more inclusive spaces. In your classroom, workplace, or community, create opportunities for people to share their stories and learn about each other's identities. The Social Identity Wheel is a powerful tool that can help us to understand ourselves and each other better. By using it, we can break down stereotypes and build a more inclusive world. I would love to hear your stories about how you have used the Social Identity Wheel. Which part of the wheel do you identify with? How has it helped you to learn more about yourself and others? I believe that everyone has a unique story to tell. By sharing our stories, we can build bridges and create a more understanding world. #social #identity #inclusion #diversity #community #familyengagement #student #education #culture

Hey everyone, I want to talk about something important today. Recently, #PrachiNigam, a bright student who topped her Class 10 exams in UP, faced a lot of unnecessary criticism online just because of her facial hair. It's really disappointing to see such talented young people getting bullied over things that have nothing to do with their abilities or achievements. This kind of behavior doesn't just hurt the person being bullied, it also shows how shallow our society can sometimes be, focusing more on looks than on what truly matters—like someone's hard work and success. We need to do better. We need to support each other and celebrate achievements instead of picking on differences. Let’s not let superficial beauty standards define us. Everyone looks different, and that's not only okay, it's actually great! Diversity is what makes our community strong. We should appreciate people for who they are and what they achieve. We all have a part to play in making our society a kinder, more inclusive place. p.s : Watch my views on 'The Breakfast Club' ,a show on #CNBCNEWS18 on this issue . In the current world, where intolerance exists in various forms within societies and nations, it is crucial to prioritize inclusivity on our educational campuses. It is not enough to simply mention inclusivity in our vision and mission statements; we must actually implement it. While adults may be blinded by hatred and rejection of those who are different from them, it is essential to cultivate a sense of inclusivity and sensitivity in children and young adults if we want to bring about positive change in the world. Sometimes, adults may not listen to other adults in moments of anger and hate, but they might respond to the call for change from their own children. Therefore, we should initiate the transformation towards a positive and inclusive environment in educational campuses. We need to ensure that these campuses become safe places for all children and young adults, regardless of their backgrounds. Here are some ways to promote inclusivity: 1. Clearly incorporate inclusivity into the mission and vision of the campus, and ensure its thorough implementation. 2. Involve all stakeholders in the process of formulating policies that govern inclusivity on campus. 3. Celebrate and embrace differences through awards, recognitions, festivals, and performing arts that showcase inclusivity. 4. Conduct awareness programs, workshops, and courses that discuss the benefits of inclusivity for society. 5. Additionally, organize consciousness-raising discussions on the ideas of inclusivity and explore why we fear differences. Encourage the creation of a club dedicated to promoting inclusivity through year-long activities. Publish a regular newsletter that invites contributions from faculty, parents, and students, focusing on enhancing inclusivity or sharing personal empowering stories of how inclusivity has helped individuals to achieve personal growth and success in life. By following these steps, we can foster an inclusive environment on educational campuses and contribute to creating a more harmonious and accepting society. #inclusiveeducation #inclusivecampus #inclusivity #inclusivitymatters #education

"Do, see and make as much as you possibly can. Go big! It's all about ideas." Luca Pawson, Fashion Graduate 📸 #WonderWhat is made for ages 13 and we spend a lot of time thinking about the voices we bring to our young people - and importantly, how their own voice comes into it. The recent 'Big Ambition' report by the Children's Commissioner for England found that only one in five children feel listened to by the adults in power. This is one of the reasons we focus on near-to-peer content, so young people can see work from graduates like Luca, and hear advice directly from them. It's also why the very first WonderWhat does, is listen. It listens to what you like. We don't need to know why you like it, or if you see a future for yourself in that specific creative area. We just listen to what it is that lights you up - and from there, we'll offer inspiration, signposting and guidance to help you on your way. 📲See for yourself https://lnkd.in/enTiGUZZ

Hola LinkedIn community! 👋 In the heart of education, my passion lies in crafting lessons that resonate with every learner. When I design instruction, inclusivity is at the forefront of my approach. Here's a glimpse into my journey: 🌈 Diverse Representation: In my lessons, every word matters. From embracing neutral language to consciously including diverse collectives—individuals with disabilities, queer people, people of color—I strive to create content that reflects the beautiful tapestry of our world. 🖼️ Visual Diversity Matters: Selecting images is an art. I meticulously curate visuals that showcase a rich variety—different ages, body types, and backgrounds. Because every learner deserves to see themselves represented in the learning journey. 🌐 Accessibility for All: Accessibility isn't an afterthought; it's integral. Learning about color choices for visual impairment, providing text and transcripts for screen readers—these are intentional steps to ensure lessons are accessible to everyone. 🔄 Continuous Improvement: Perfection is a journey, not a destination. I revisit lessons, welcoming feedback and making adjustments. There's always more to learn, and I'm committed to evolving my content to be more inclusive. 👥 Collaboration for Impact: In the past, some questioned the time invested in crafting materials. Today, I celebrate an organization that not only supports but actively collaborates on the little things that make learning easier for everyone. Efforts to be inclusive never go unnoticed. 🌟 A Shoutout to Conscious Minds: To the collaborators and educators who, with a conscious mind, direct their content to reach hearts and minds—your efforts are shaping a future where education is truly for everyone. Let's continue this journey together! Keep sharing your stories of inclusivity! 👇✨ 🌎 #InclusiveEducation #DiversityAndInclusion #EducationForAll #InstructionalDesign #ChampioningInclusion #LearningJourney

Today , I get to be part of the diversity summit at #SUNY #Geneseo. We believe that when engaged properly diversity, equity and inclusion enhances critical thinking among college students by exposing them to a wide range of perspectives and challenging their preconceived notions. In addition to critical thinking, DEI efforts bolster several other essential competencies that make our American students more competitive in a social and political world economy, including: Empathy and Cultural Competence: Understanding and appreciating the experiences and perspectives of people from different backgrounds, which is essential in today's globalized world. (Health Care, Education and social Sciences) Communication Skills: Learning to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, which is critical for personal and professional success. (All Fields) Problem-Solving Abilities: Exposure to diverse perspectives can lead to more creative and effective solutions to problems. (STEM) Adaptability and Flexibility: Navigating diverse environments can help students become more adaptable and flexible, qualities that are highly valued in the workplace. (All fields) Social Responsibility and Ethical Awareness: DEI initiatives can foster a sense of social responsibility and ethical awareness, encouraging students to think about the broader impact of their actions on society. (Business and Social Sciences) Leadership Skills: Understanding DEI issues is crucial for effective leadership in diverse organizations and communities. (Business and Arts and Sciences) Self-Awareness: Engaging with DEI can lead to greater self-awareness and personal growth as students reflect on their own identities, biases, and assumptions. (Social Sciences and the Arts) Collaboration: Working in diverse groups can enhance students' ability to collaborate effectively, a key skill in almost any profession. (Education, Health Care, Fine Arts)

In the ever evolving landscape of education, diversity isn't just a buzzword, it's the cornerstone of enriching learning experiences and shaping inclusive environments. Today, I want to emphasize the importance of embracing different perspectives in education. Diversity isn't just about demographics; it's about honoring the unique backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints that each individual brings to the table. Whether we're students, educators, or administrators, our diverse perspectives enrich the educational journey and broaden our understanding of the world. As educators, we have a profound opportunity to celebrate diversity by incorporating diverse voices and perspectives into our curriculum. By exploring literature, history, and art from various cultures and regions, we empower students to see the world through multiple lenses, fostering empathy and understanding along the way. But celebrating diversity in education goes beyond the classroom. It's about creating inclusive spaces where every voice is heard, valued, and respected. By fostering open dialogue and promoting mutual respect among students of different backgrounds, we cultivate a culture of inclusivity that extends far beyond the school gates. Moreover, embracing diversity means ensuring that our faculties reflect the rich tapestry of our communities. By recruiting and supporting educators from diverse backgrounds, we not only provide students with role models they can relate to but also ensure that a range of perspectives informs our teaching practices and decision-making processes. So, let's commit to celebrating diversity in education not just today, but every day. Together, let's embrace different perspectives, cultivate inclusive environments, and empower the next generation to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world. #DiversityInEducation #InclusionMatters #EducationForAll 🌍📚 #EDA
