Olympic Prize Money! Is it just me, or is there something very different about the Paris Olympics starting in 100 days? Firstly, there seems to be a distinct lack of global hype, at least in our part of the world. I was asking some young lawyers in my office and they said we were missing a global figure who would inspire us. Secondly, there are a lot of other important happenings around the world at the moment that, deservedly, are consuming our attention. The event itself promises to be a departure from tradition from the opening ceremony to other aspects. It appears to be an Olympics in Paris where most Parisians who can have left their city will be absent. Finally, this will be the first time that World Athletics will be offering prize money for its sports. This trend is bound to extend to other sports. https://lnkd.in/d7dtwmWt

All the talk is "Go for the Gold," but the Olympics isn't about competing, it's about community. Community? You are probably asking what Olympics I'm watching... Yes, I know that's hard to believe when all we see are the Olympic medal counts and stories of athletes pushing themselves to be a part of the medal ceremony. But stick with me here... What if the real point of the Olympics isn't to see who gets the most medals... but rather to remind us that 206 countries can come together for one common purpose? What if the real point of the Olympics is to remind us that we can come together to create a community... A community that shares a common experience, values, and purpose: the pursuit of excellence. A community that creates a sense of place that transcends the athletes' home countries: the Olympic Village. A community that reminds us that we are just one of 206 countries who make the Olympics so special... What if the real point of the Olympics isn't to see who gets the most medals... but rather to remind us that there are more things that can unite us than divide us? Two billion people, or one-third of the world's population, watched the opening ceremony. If you were one of them, I hope you saw what I saw... Not the build-up of a global competition, but rather the building of a global community. Sometimes all it takes is a little friendly competition to bring us all together!

219/366 SPIRITS OF THE OLYMPIC There are three values why the Olympics are quadrennial events for every country on the earth. "The three values of olympism are excellence, respect and friendship. They constitute the foundation on which the olympic movement builds its activities to promote sport, culture and education with a view to building a better world." -International Olympic Committee- The Olympics are not just an event. It is more than that. The pressure, the challenge, and the process to be the best among the best. The athletes put everything in the sports to be the best. Sweat, tears and blood all become one. They put aside their family, friends and hobby. Just to focus, they sacrifice everything. Just to exceed our expectations. The Olympics are more than just an event. Fair play, Respect and Tolerate is compulsory for all the participants that take part in this event. Ignore the Is Not Real, Gold is just a bonus. The important part of the Olympics is to maintain the respect between each athlete and remain in a good relationship with the people around. #NadzmiJourney
