Today is #showyourstripes day. "These warming stripes are a powerful visual representation of how temperatures have increased around the world since the Industrial Revolution. Created by climate scientist Professor Ed Hawkins at the @UniofReading, each stripe represents one year, with colors transitioning from cool blues to warm reds to represent the increases in temperature seen throughout the past 150 years or more." Climate policy update! Crucial international climate negotiations recently wrapped up in Bonn, Germany. These annual talks laid the groundwork for issues to be discussed at COP29 in Azerbaijan. The sessions focus on the scientific and technical elements of climate negotiations and the implementation of climate agreements. This year was the 60th meeting of the Subsidiary Bodies, referred to as SB60, and with each passing year, the stakes are being raised as emissions climb and commitments pile up. Check out the Drawdown's Neighborhood Screening event in San Francisco and celebrate 7 new climate heroes! June 26! RSVP today at: https://lnkd.in/ewUSvweU.
Don't just talk about justice, equity, and underrepresented voices. 🙅🏾 Use your platform and sphere of influence to build power, shape culture, and elevate those that are often pushed to the margins. ✅ Whether or not you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, you hitting "SHARE" 🔁 will help fill the David Brower Center on June 26th, as we celebrate 7 new climate heroes – who are young people, Black people, Indigenous people, people of color, LGBTQIA people, etc – through our Drawdown's Neighborhood climate solutions short docuseries (presented by Project Drawdown). 👏🏾 Right now, we have 100 people registered, but we still have plenty of room for you and folks you know to show up, celebrate the 7 climate heroes, and discover your own role when it comes to climate solutions. If you can attend, RSVP today at https://lnkd.in/ewUSvweU. Either way, you can share this post and the Eventbrite link with other individuals or groups you know who care about climate, justice, equity, hope, and solutions. Together, we can pass the mic to the voices that often go unheard, and spreading the word about this very special event is just one way you can do that. ☀️ #sanfrancisco #bayarea #climatestories
