Issue 19 of our #Resilience Tech Newsletter: This week, guest author Matthias Joest explores the dangers posed to our Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and how to make them more resilient. GNSS is indispensable across various sectors, including mobility, logistics, energy, telecommunications, and defence. However, these systems can be disrupted through jamming as can be witnessed in the Ukraine or recently in the Baltic Sea. Read on about novel solutions and strategies to make location-based services more secure: https://lnkd.in/eG4kk3Yu We’re also supporting the inaugural European #DefenceTech Hackathon in Munich this week. We are working with colleagues at KP Labs, OHB Hellas and the European Space Agency - ESA on the BOLERO project, making significant strides in applying both classic and deep machine-learning within satellite communications 🛰️ The BOLERO approach to machine-learning will enable a shift across the SatCom industry. The project aims to evaluate new methods of machine-learning against the specific limitations that processing onboard a satellite brings. Colleagues across Eutelsat OneWeb are contributing to the project by providing their expertise gained from working at an industry-leading operator to highlight the business impacts and benefits of machine-learning on a variety of space-based applications. Tackling the challenges associated with continual learning by adopting strategies like incremental learning helps models to not only adapt to new tasks, but also handle evolving data distributions, enhancing the reliability of SatCom systems under dynamic conditions. Explore more about the BOLERO project and its impact on the future of SatCom on KP Labs' website in the link in the comments 👇
