People go on and on about using the MBTI for hiring like it's some magic wand that will guarantee you get the perfect fit for your team. The thing is - they never quite get around to discussing how the results are situationally and chronologically bound. Your MBTI score will be different depending on how you view the questions. My MBTI score will be different if I am answering them if they are about my social life than if I think the question indicates work. And I have had multiple MBTI scores over the course of my lifetime - and your candidates will as well. Your perfect candidate could score completely different six weeks after you hire them. The MBTI is no crystal ball.
Ever wondered how personality type can influence your career or hiring decisions? 🧠 Discover the power of understanding your Myers-Briggs type for both job seekers and hiring managers alike. 👓 Read the blog below to learn more about all 16 personality types and take the test to uncover yours! ⤵️ 💡 Already know your personality type? How Your Personality Type Impacts Your Work… Have you ever wondered why you approach work the way you do? It might have everything to do with your personality type. Assessments like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or the DiSC profile provide a way to understand your unique personality traits. These assessments can significantly influence your work style. For example, if you're an introvert according to MBTI, you might prefer independent work, while extroverts might thrive in group settings. Similarly, DiSC profiles can reveal if you're more driven by data or relationships, influencing your communication and decision-making styles. Personality types also play a crucial role in interpersonal relationships at work. Understanding your colleagues' personality types can improve empathy and help effective communication. By knowing what motivates and discourages everyone, you can create a harmonious and productive work environment. Ultimately, understanding your unique traits can contribute to overall job satisfaction. By harnessing your strengths and addressing areas of growth, you can create a fulfilling, productive career. You might find tasks that align with your personality type more engaging, leading to higher job satisfaction and performance. So, if you are offered the opportunity to take part in psychometric testing either at work or as part of recruitment, make sure you grab it and take the time to learn about your personality type, it will certainly help you make the most out of your career! #MBTI #DiSC #PersonalityType #WorkLife #CareerDevelopment

PERSONALITY TRAITS 📑Assessing the compatibility of your personality with the demands of the role you are applying for is a critical component of career decision-making, in addition to factors like salary, growth potential, company culture, etc. 🌟Every job requires a certain set of personality traits and physical attributes to be a good fit. It is crucial to evaluate whether your personality fits these requirements. It's not just about meeting the qualifications on paper but also about ensuring your innate traits are a natural complement to the job's demands. 💡Personality is not static; it exists along a spectrum. You have the ability to adjust or modulate certain aspects of your personality. However, this modulation shouldn't require excessive effort or fundamentally change who you are, as this can lead to frustration and burnout. 🖍️It's important to find a role where your core traits are valued and appreciated. If your personality traits are well-suited to the job, you're more likely to thrive and find satisfaction in your work. 📌A role that requires you to stretch and grow within your natural personality tendencies can be fulfilling. On the other hand, a role that constantly pushes you outside of your comfort zone in a way that doesn't align with your core traits can be draining. 💡💡Incase you are not sure about the required personality, during the interview process, ask questions that provide insight into the role's personality requirements. This can help you gauge the level of alignment and whether your natural traits are seen as assets for the position. I hope this is helpful. What is the reason for you to look out for a job change? I am sure you have been asked this question from each interviewer. Introspect on the below areas before you answer this question to ensure you do not leave a poor impression: - Think hard around what truly motivates you. Why are you looking out for a change? Is the answer based on emotions or ambition. If it is emotion, re-think before you finalize your true motivators as profession works on ambition and not emotions. - Remember that compensation should never be the reason for a job change. Working for a company which has a great culture is much more important as with great culture comes better mental health. - If you are indeed looking for opportunities for growth reasons, be choice full with your words as even though your intention would be to share your ambition transparently with the interviewer, your words is what will create a perception about you. - Be honest but do not go overboard. Some candidates can tend to overshare. Eg. If you have been laid off, share that honestly however if you chose to leave a job to tend to some personal matters, you need not nose dive into what those personal matters are. To state a well thought through reason for change is key as that does become one of the reasons why a candidate's profile gets shortlisted. #interviewskills #interviewtips #interviewpreparation #reasonforchange
