Not every field visit is pretty--like week's #FromTheFieldFriday. Without proper disease prevention, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum White Mold can take over like in these photos, moving with the irrigation water and spreading along the soil planter bed. Yikes! This field of organic romaine lettuce on the California coast will be treated with Jet-Ag 5% Sanitizer after harvest at a curative rate followed by applications of Stargus Biofungicide. Applying Stargus Biofungicide before disease develops helps control Sclerotinia sclerotiorum in leafy greens & prevents situations like the one pictured. Learn more about Stargus at https://lnkd.in/gR-rfZSe #lettuce #leafygreens #sclerotinia #biologicals

Citrus Anthracnose (chronic, acute) Anthracnose is a primary colonizer of injured and senescent tissue. The organism grows on dead wood in the canopy, and it spreads short distances by rain splash, heavy dew, and overhead irrigation. Such movement deposits the spores on susceptible tissues of young leaves or immature fruit. Fruits stored during the storage period also often rot due to this disease. As a weak parasitic fungus, it is prone to occur in extensively managed orchards. Oranges and grapefruits are relatively susceptible, while tangerines are more susceptible. Continuous rainy weather may lead to the onset of the disease." What is plant health? Plant health is the capacity of the plant to grow and reproduce normally without the help of any external inputs (fertilisers, pesticides and irrigation). What are the methods to improve plant health? 1. Concious artificial selection of plants and cultivars on the basis of their capacity to give higher yield without using chemical fertilisers and on the basis of their immunity against insect pests, diseases and weeds. 2. Improvement of soil health by applying the methods of no-till, no off-farm input, mulching, cover cropping, multilayer polycropping and mixed animal husbandry.

Sunscald in pepper🫑 : Sunscald occurs on the side of pepper exposed to direct sunlight. but leaves and stems also can be injured. pepper near maturity are more sensitive to sunscald injury than immature pepper. Symptoms are similar in appearance to those of blossom-end rot, but they are consistently associated with exposure to direct sunlight. pepper suddenly exposed to direct sunlight due to defoliation from disease, pruning or stem breakage are most likely to develop sunscald. To prevent sunscald, the internal temperature of the pepper should not rise above 35° C Encourage abundant, healthy foliage with proper fertilization and irrigation.

XPES UV Sterilizer Production Process The Role of UV Sterilizers in Aquaculture👇 UV disinfection is a critical component in maintaining water biosecurity at all stages of shrimp farming, from hatcheries to nurseries and grow-out facilities. It effectively inactivates common shrimp diseases such as White Spot Syndrome (WSSV), Vibrio, EMS, and Mortality Syndrome (EHP), without altering water properties or creating harmful residues. This leads to healthier post-larval and juvenile shrimp, which are more resilient during the grow-out stage, resulting in higher survival rates. #xpes #uvsterilizer #uvdisinfection #aquaculture #farm #manufacturer #bacteria

A 22-year-old female presents to your office for evaluation of nasal and sinus congestion, frequent sneezing, and itchy red eyes. These symptoms have been present 5–7 days per week for the past 6 months. She has had similar symptoms in the past but they have never lasted this long. There are no animals in the house. She has tried over-the-counter fexofenadine (Allegra) with only partial relief of symptoms. Which one of the following would be the most appropriate recommendation at this time? A. Use of a mite-proof impermeable pillow cover B. Intranasal saline irrigation C. Intranasal azelastine (Astepro) D. Intranasal budesonide (Rhinocort) E. CT of the sinuses

Fertiliser prices are finally dropping! Teagasc has forecast that fertiliser prices will fall by 35% this year, which is great news for farmers throughout Ireland. Still, the high cost of fertilisers over the last few years has made us all realise the importance of testing the nutritional value of fresh grass for forage. If you have all the nutrients you need in the grass you feed to your animals, then you might not have to spend money on fertilisers to top up. Analysis will help you cut costs, ensure you only apply the fertilisers and supplements that are needed, and optimise crop growth and livestock production. Don’t stop saving now!
