Director of Communications, Campaigns & Events at International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB)
Confession time - I'm afraid I used to roll my eyes at phrases like "systems change". To me phases like this sometimes sound more like buzzwords than concrete action, but actually for us at International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and the #2030inSight strategy it's about "ending avoidable sight loss by 2030" - now that's a concrete goal we can all get behind! The new IAPB Young Systems Leader Awards is offering early-career eye health professionals a chance to be part of making this strategic change happen - no jargon required, just a passion for making a difference! Here's how it works: - Forget siloed working, think big picture. This award recognises those who break down barriers and collaborate across sectors. - Don't be afraid to experiment! It's those who are trying new things, learning from failures, and planning for the future that will be celebrated. - Sharpen your skills and network with the best. Winners get exclusive access to workshops, events, and mentorship. Think you know someone who has got what it takes? - Are they under 35, work in eye health and for an IAPB member? ✅ - Are they changemaker as well as a problem solver? 🤔 - Can they ditch the jargon and join a movement with real impact? 🚮 Nominate a passionate colleague by March 4th! Details and nomination form on the IAPB website - https://lnkd.in/eXYbPhVz Let's show the world that young eye health professionals are leading the way to a brighter future for all!
We're thrilled to announce the launch of the Young Systems Leader Awards, a new initiative aimed at empowering early-career professionals driving transformative change in eye health. This award celebrates "Systems Thinkers" – young professionals shifting the paradigm to tackle avoidable sight loss. With our ambitious 2030 In Sight Strategy at its core, this initiative aims to integrate eye care seamlessly within health systems, shaping a brighter future for all. “The IAPB Young Systems Leader Awards celebrates the brilliance, enthusiasm, and collaborative spirit that will define the future of eye health and change the lives of so many for the better. By investing in these inspiring young professionals IAPB wants to empower them to champion systems change and ensure everyone, everywhere has access to quality eye care." - Caroline Casey, IAPB President.
