In honor of Spitfire's 22nd anniversary At milestone moments, I have a practice of sitting back before leaping into life and work again. I start with James Baldwin, who wrote “Inventory/On Being 52”: My progress report concerning my journey to the palace of wisdom is discouraging. I lack certain indispensable aptitudes. Furthermore, it appears that I packed the wrong things. Taking inventory is not easy. You have to be honest with yourself and the world, un-sugarcoat a few truths and be willing to practice that intellectual humility everyone is going on about. But taking inventory grounds you. It gives you that solid feeling of “I know who I am and where I am.” It also signals what needs to change. My first step during milestone moments is to have the courage to really look. Many of you know I hold an in-depth knowledge and passion for everything IT. Our team experiences and uses the latest technology in their roles with on-going investment into new technology weekly. This utilisation of technology in otherwise 'old' industries allows us efficiency gains that competitors are still unable to achieve... it allows a modestly sized sales team to process 100's of phone, online and in-person orders daily across the country seamlessly. It allows our customers to access easy online ordering, custom brochures, white label colour charts, colour visualisers & more. This is just a few reasons why I will never stop pushing for both the internal and customer use of technologies with All Purpose Coatings Pty Ltd. With continued investment & upgrades comes changes in the way we host our internal & customer facing infrastructure. Moving from leased dedicated & co-location servers to a mix of Azure services, Vultr VM's and on-premises technologies means yesterday we decommissioned the last of our leased servers in NEXTDC after 6 years. Do I shed a tear? Celebrate? 🤣

#DreamTeam Two months ago when we first gathered to discuss the project “Pipeline Infrastructure Limited Annual Day”, the only thing all of us had in common was the excitement to make 5th Anniversary a memory of a lifetime for every PIL family member. And what a joy it was to see our employees and their extended family smiling and enjoying all the hard work we put in to make this celebration a blockbuster hit! This success is a testament to the commitment of the core team. Abhijit Surwade – for agreeing to host the event (not that he had a choice 😝) in a stylish and energetic manner. There was not a single dull moment! Ankur Mullick - for helping close all tasks on time and ensuring the team is on track with deliverables. Atul Chaturvedi - for sharing the right data to ensure no one is missed @Mitali Wagh- for your can-do attitude towards every task allotted. Mohit Raj - for unwavering support with engaging presentation content. Pranav Kelkar - for ensuring timely processing of payments and thus ensuring happy and content vendors Shruti Nair – for sharing the responsibility at every stage of the planning and execution ( and for being my agony aunt 😝). Not to forget, my team at firebrand labs Mona Adesara arvind aathreya for their bang on concepts, designs and timely delivery of all deliverables. Last but not the least, Akhil Mehrotra for your untiring faith in our ability to deliver Excellence as One-Team. Together, there is no challenge too great, no goal too ambitious. [UPDATE] So on Thrusday, DHST '24 took home the trophy and reclaimed legacy in the winner's circle. 😢 😃 🎈 I didn't realize it had be 8 YEARS! Well worth the wait, glad I was able to experience it. "...No one does it better..." #iykyk Lessons I relearned: 1. Practice makes performers Winging it or just going with the flow are incredibly invaluable parts to great performances, some things you just can't teach. But for the core of any show, rather in the office or on a stage, rehearsal is where the wins are created. Through repetition, layouts, and plans, being on top can become a mentality, even if results don't play in your favor. 2. Life is about the GRIT Go for it (believe in yourself) Risk a little something (try something new) Incorporate your individuality (you are enough) Train for what's ahead (be prepared) 3. Put it on the floor It doesn't matter if you're on the stage, behind the scenes, a coach, a coordinator, a manager, or cheerleader, sweat equity pays off eventually, and influences everytime. People can see when you're lackluster and don't try. Don't give the people a reason. Go OFF!!!
