The process of obtaining gender-affirming care can be complex and stressful for transgender and non-binary people. That's why we have Personal Health Support Clinicians like Andrea Donovan-Dupont available to make the process easier for Premera members to navigate. Clinicians like Andrea understand that every gender transition process is as unique as the person seeking care, and they're here to help Premera's members find providers and access the care they need, every step of the way. #Pride #PrideMonth #Pride2024

The relationship between patient and primary care provider is at the very foundation of our healthcare system. But accessing primary care is often more difficult than it needs to be. That's why Dr. Steve Jacobson, Medical Director for Premera, was in Olympia today to join Washington State Health Care Authority, providers, healthcare organizations, and payers from across the state in signing a memorandum of understanding aimed at easing administrative burdens and aligning on policies that support Washington's primary care providers. Alongside our partners in the Washington Multi-payer Collaborative, we will be working to make Washington a better place for primary care providers to practice by implementing changes that let them spend more time with patients and less time with paperwork. #healthcarepolicy #primarycare #primarycareproviders

Congratulations to Premera's quality team on this recognition of their excellent work!
Chief Medical Officer at Premera Blue Cross, Professor of Medicine, UC Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business
In the healthcare industry, there's often talk about being the best. However, what we truly need is the drive to continually improve in being "the best in getting better". At Premera Blue Cross our healthcare services team embodies this ethos every day as we serve our members. I was incredibly proud when our quality team received the Pink award at the FEP forum (Federal Employee Program) recognizing our commitment to being the best in continually getting better. Kudos to John Sullivan, Wilhelmina D. Danae Silva and rest of the team.

The gender transition process can be a long one, with stops and starts along the way. Over the course of that journey, it can help a lot to know you have someone on your side. That's why Premera's single-point-of-contact model helps transgender and non-binary members who are seeking gender-affirming care develop lasting, long-term relationships with clinicians who can support them. #Pride #PrideMonth #Pride2024

As #PrideMonth draws to a close, it's a good opportunity to reflect on how we, as organizations and individuals alike, can be better allies to the LGBTQIA community generally - not just one month at a time. In the interest of maintaining the energy of #Pride all year long, we're sharing some history and thoughts on what the Premera team is doing to support our LGBTQIA colleagues and members, as well as what each of us can do in our own lives. https://lnkd.in/gB-Cexit

The Premera Blue Cross team is proud to be included on Newsweek’s list of America’s Greatest Workplaces for 2024. Everyone at Premera shows up every day with one goal in mind – improving the lives of our customers by making healthcare work better for them. That shared passion shows up in everything we do, and our collective commitment is always front and center, whether we’re grabbing lunch together in the cafeteria or collaborating on Teams. And if you need further proof that Premera’s people make this a special place to work, this wasn’t the only recognition we received from the Newsweek team, who also named Premera one of their Greatest Workplaces for Mental Wellbeing. It’s great to be honored for what we already know to be true – that Premera’s employees are serious about taking care of our members, and about taking care of one another.

It was a pleasure and an honor to celebrate Juneteenth alongside the Lynnwood community at the Freedom Festival earlier this week. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Premera table to chat with our team, and to the organizers for welcoming us at this wonderful event!

June is Men’s Health Month and it's a great opportunity to talk to our fathers, sons, uncles, and all the other men in our lives about their health and the particular health issues they face as men. Among those issues is colorectal cancer, which is almost a third more common in men than women, and 44% more likely to be fatal. That’s why the CDC recommends screenings for colorectal cancer for most men beginning at age 45. Want to show you care about the men in your life this month? Encourage them to talk to their healthcare provider about what cancer screenings may be appropriate for them.
