Returning to work after an extended career break can feel daunting, making it easy to overlook our strengths and skills. A client shared how coaching sessions reframed her outlook during this transition. Together, we navigated her shift from the public to the private sector, addressing unhelpful thoughts and overcoming past challenges. Our sessions, from interviews to starting a new role, focused on building mental resilience and confidence. It's rewarding to hear that two years later, she still finds value in our work together. #CareerCoaching #ProfessionalDevelopment

At this stage of my life, there are many things I'm learning. One of them is the concept of reciprocity. As I relate with people, I am learning to separate matters of obligation from matters of discretion. I have seen that this is a big deal in human relationships, especially because of how susceptible we are to an entitlement mentality. You have to be able to separate what you must do in relation to a friendship, partnership or service from what you may do. A failure to do this will result in you majoring in the minor and minoring in the major. Let me give an instance. In an employment situation, your obligation as an employee is to fulfill the job description or key performance indicators connected to your role. In the same situation, the obligation of your employer is to pay your agreed wage. Now, I know you've likely heard from motivational speakers that you can be entrepreneurial even as an employee (intrapreneurship) and you can find new ways of assisting your organisation in order to increase your value to them and to swiften your career growth. If you're always in the habit of thinking up new ways of contributing value but you are not doing the minimum in regard to your actual job description, the effect could actually be opposite, and you could be setting yourself backwards career-wise. Another instance. It's possible that you have heard that nobody owes you anything. That is true, but not entirely true. Your friends owe you! I believe that, within the bounds of reason, your friends owe you love and support, just about the same way you owe them the same. It comes with the friendship package. You can't call yourself a friend if you have not shown yourself friendly. However, if you have consistently shown yourself friendly, but you are not getting the same energy back after a reasonable while, it's okay to rethink strategy and focus your energy more productively. While we should not go about life feeling entitled, we are entitled to feel entitled to receive if we have given just as much. What do you think?😀 #reciprocity #ReciprocityMatters #career #careergrowth #friends #friendship #relationships #professionalgrowth #professionalexcellence #CareerSuccess #success #FriendshipGoals

Your "why" should be deeply rooted in your individual journey, reflecting your dreams, ambitions, and the impact you wish to make in the world. 3 Questions that changed my life 🤔 💭 1) If I wasn't worried about criticism, what would I be doing right now? 2) What are the perceived costs vs benefits? 3) If I was totally raw and truthful with myself, what kind of life would I choose to wake up to every day? I revisit these questions many times. I think of it like my "day job" 😅. I consistently check my focus, make corrections (add, edit, delete), and realign with what's true for me, what inspires me, and what aligns with my values. ❓ What reflective questions have helped you most in your career? Cheers and good vibes! #powerfulquestions #asktherightquestions #clarity
