Simple truth. The top sales people, with the most closed deals.... Will also have the most lost deals.... Additional facts: The average career batting average for all Hall of Famers is approximately .3051. Here are a few notable Hall of Famers and their batting averages: Hank Aaron: .305 Roberto Alomar: .300 Lou Brock: .293 George Brett: .305 Wade Boggs: .328 Yogi Berra: .285 That means the Best of the Best didn't get a hit 7/10 times. Don't seek perfection over progress. Put in the work. Get a little bit better every day. Keep your opportunities plentiful. You're going to get where you want to be, PS. Spotlight on Ben Lever: Driving New Opportunities at ArrowXL Meet Ben Lever, ArrowXL's proactive Business Development Executive, who has been making waves since joining the team in October 2023. With a focus on generating new leads and opportunities, Ben's role is pivotal in supporting the commercial team's efforts to expand ArrowXL's client base. Whether it's handling enquiries, researching potential leads, or setting up meetings, his work ensures the business development managers are continuously engaged with promising prospects. Despite his relatively short tenure of 5 months, Ben's impact is already felt within ArrowXL. His approachability and the immediate support he receives from colleagues across departments underscore the collaborative spirit of ArrowXL. But it's not just the teamwork; it's the trust and responsibility entrusted to him at just 21 years old that Ben finds most rewarding. Before joining ArrowXL, Ben was honing his skills in Sport Management at Loughborough University, a journey he will resume in September 2024 for his final year. This blend of academic pursuit and practical experience enriches his contributions to the company. Ben's motivation comes from the belief ArrowXL and the commercial team have in him. Recognizing his potential, they've invested in his growth, encouraging him to deepen his understanding of the logistics industry and validate their confidence in his abilities. A career highlight for Ben was seeing one of his leads convert into a client—a milestone that earned him recognition and a sense of accomplishment within ArrowXL. Participating in the January Furniture Show at the NEC in Birmingham further broadened his industry connections and even led to a memorable encounter with Manchester United legend Denis Irwin. Outside of work, Ben's passions include football, music, and spending quality time with friends. Described as organised, reflective, and thorough, he embodies the qualities that make a difference in his role. For those considering a career at ArrowXL, Ben's advice is straightforward: seize the opportunity. His experience highlights the welcoming and supportive environment ArrowXL provides, making it an ideal place for growth and learning. #ArrowXL #BusinessDevelopment #CareerSpotlight #TeamSuccess

Compliance Risk Management Expert | Implementing efficient and value adding compliance | Career coaching for higher performance | Compliance Templates |
Let's talk about competition... Whether you like it or not everyday you are in competiton, the question is are you a good competitor or do you not even know what game is being played? If you are unemployed you are competing for jobs, if you are employed you are competing for salary increases (not everyone only got that 4% they gave you) and promotion, and if you are in business you are competing for clients. Don't just show up hoping for the best...have a game plan and execute. What can you do today, tomorrow and the next day to compete in your specific arena as best as you can. When I first started KC Compliance I expressed my concern to my mom that there was a lot of competition in the consulting space and her response was "So!...is there only one grocery store, one car dealership, one school etc in South Africa? There is no such thing as life without competition." That's the unstoppable force that is my mom ladies and gentlemen. That was a big 💡 moment for me. Vary rarely is success going to be based on being the only one...there is a reason business's like Aibnb and Uber are called unicorns. Even then where there is success others will soon follow so you will eventially have to compete to continue to be successful. Its not over when you get that job, now you must compete for promotions. You have to be able to figure out what distinguishes you from the rest, why they should choose you above everyone else, and why they should keep choosing you. When you figure that out it's time to sell thst value you bring as much as you can. Besides, where's the fun in winning a race when you don't have anyone to beat! Victory is so much sweeter when you kicked butt to get it! Happy Wednesday!

When the pitch comes my way I swing for the fences That’s me about to get in a new Porche GT4 with a CEO that flew into Atlanta to hang out with me for half a day. 😎 Let me explain. We had hours of conversation over several weeks leading up to this moment. Including the founders of the company. Everything was going well. In fact, two weeks before this picture was taken we had a phone call. He told me he let the other candidates for this CRO role move on and I was the only one left. 👏🏼 In these scenarios you typically think “This is looking good. I have a 99% chance of landing this role.” Excitement sets in big time. So I did what anyone would do… I booked us lunch at The Porche Experience center and a few laps with a pro driver ripping us 100mph around the F1 track 😏 Non paid plug: 🔌 If you ever visit ATL this should be at the top of your list. It’s 5 miles from the airport. You won’t regret it. I’m all for creating experiences both in life and in the sales process. He had no idea where we were headed when I picked him up from the airport. But he must have said 10 times during and afterwards “this is so cool, such a great idea” For the sake of not writing a book. This opportunity didn’t pan out. (Crazy right?) I had to walk away. But here’s why I wrote the post. DO NOT let your foot off the gas (see what I did there?) in your job search. Even when it looks like there is a 99.9% chance you will land the role. Even if you have an offer in front of you. Do not stop applying or continuing the process with other opportunities. I give this advice all the time and in this case I didn’t follow it. Lesson learned. ✅ Keep your foot on the gas. Don’t be afraid to take big swings and create unforgettable experiences. In life, job searching, and in sales. Remember to stay persistent. Sometimes what you thought was a fastball over center plate turns into a curve ball. ⚾️ Pivot and keep moving forward. ❤️✌🏼

Each call became a mini-performance, and his passion turned potential rejections into opportunities. His hard work paid off when he landed a major client, a victory that proved his unique approach could shine in any arena. Alex’s story is a powerful reminder: it’s not about where you start, but how you adapt and persevere. I bet you don't know more than one player in the picture below. Do you know why? None of them were the leading scorers on their team. No Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neil...ect. In professional sports, the best players on teams don't end up being coaches because they are smart enough to know they wouldn't like it. In sales, it is the opposite. When someone is a top performer on their team, the next step is to promote them to management. "They figured it out let's let them teach everyone else how to do it." What many don't realize: - It's an entirely different job - Their paycheck now relies on others - Everyone is different, and it's hard to teach what you did - And one last thing- You get very little training on how to do it Are you a great sales rep thinking about moving into management? Or have you already made the move? Make sure you are making the move for the right reasons. The interesting thing about the list is that most are point guards. What's the biggest job of a point guard? To distribute the ball to others to score. If you don't get more joy from helping others close deals than yourself, the move might not be for you. Make it for the right reasons, not because it seems like the next step in your career. If you are struggling or thinking about the move, DM me. My program helps simplify the transition from great rep to great leader. I made the mistakes early in my career, so you don't have to. ZAK NOBLE- thoughts on that list below?
