Real change begins with education.  I am proud that LIXIL offers many learning opportunities to create a more inclusive workplace – no judgment, no assessments – just opportunities to raise awareness, reflect on our own experiences, educate ourselves to learn and grow and ultimately, be an advocate. Recently, I attended Fostering LGBTQ Allyship at Work by Out & Equal.  It was a powerful and practical session using everyday situations to demonstrate how we can Listen, Educate, Notice and Speak up to become a true ally to our colleagues, friends and family members. #OneLIXIL #LIXIL #DEI #GlobalDiversityAwarenessMonth Leverage your voice. It's Pride Month, and while there are important conversations to be had, let's also have some fun! Today, we're playing a game of "Would You Rather" with a fabulous LGBTQ twist. Get ready to ponder and maybe share some real talk in the comments! 3. Would you rather attend a secret, inclusive Pride party with close friends or attend a large, public Pride march where you might not know anyone? 2. Would you rather have a supportive, understanding group of LGBTQ friends online or have one accepting family member who "gets it"? 3. Would you rather have the confidence to wear your Pride colors openly or have the ability to advocate for LGBTQ rights anonymously? Bonus: Would you rather tell your crush you like them, knowing there's a chance of rejection, or stay silent and wonder "what if"? These are just some starters! Is your Pride Month campaign neuro-inclusive? We're totally against rainbow-washing, but if you want to elevate the voices of LGBTQ creators and brands this Pride Month, you need to be authentic and inclusive. That means: 🌈 Using ALT text on all images 🌈 Accepting and using individuals' preferred language 🌈 Making space for intersectional content 🌈 Considering sensory needs for bright/flashy content 🌈 Understanding that ND folks may have a different experience of being LGBTQ than neurotypical people Got it?
