🤝🏻 As a part of the international cooperation program "EU4Business: Recovery, Competitiveness, and Internationalization of SMEs," the diagnostic center "Euroservice Zaporizhzhia" has successfully resumed its crucial operations. ✓ Now, the company is planning an expansion: a significant number of internally displaced persons from the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Donetsk regions have moved to Zaporizhzhia, and the center's capacity is insufficient to meet the demand. 👉🏼 More success stories can be found on the website: https://lnkd.in/ebnFBzMv 🔗 Grant competitions within the framework of the international cooperation program "EU4Business: Recovery, Competitiveness, and Internationalization of SMEs" are implemented by the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, with funding from the European Union and the Government of Germany. The implementation partner is the Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine.

We had the honor of attending the presentation on Economic and Trade Cooperation by the Organization of Turkic States at CEOE headquarters in Madrid on May 16, 2024. This event brought together prominent representatives from member countries and provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen economic and trade ties between the Turkic nations and Spain. Key interventions included: - Ms. Marta Blanco, President of the International Relations Committee of CEOE - H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States - H.E. Mr. Danat Musayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Spain (representing the member state holding the rotating Chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States) - H.E. Ambassador Gökhan Turan, Director General for Central Asia and Organization of Turkic States, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye - Ms. Alicia Varela, Director General of International Trade and Investment, Secretariat of State for Trade of Spain - H.E. Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev, President of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF) - Mr. Adem Kula, Secretary General of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) We also learned about current and future economic and trade cooperation projects, emphasizing synergies and new business opportunities. The event concluded with a Q&A session and an informal lunch, where we had the chance to network and explore potential future collaborations. 🇨🇱🇦🇪 Gabriel Boric, President of #Chile, will begin an official visit to the #UAE on Monday, marking the first such visit since diplomatic relations were established in 1978. During this visit, a major announcement regarding the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (#CEPA) is expected. The CEPA, which recently concluded successful negotiations, aims to enhance economic cooperation between the UAE and Chile, covering sectors like food security, technology, investment, and space. President #Boric will engage in discussions with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed #AlNahyan, focusing on economic, trade, and developmental cooperation aligned with sustainable development priorities. The visit aims to elevate bilateral relations and address global challenges such as climate action and sustainability. The UAE's commitment to strengthening ties with Latin America and promoting sustainable economic growth is reaffirmed through this visit. Diplomatic relations between the UAE and Chile, established in 1978, have grown over the years, with Chile opening a trade office in Dubai in 2006 and its embassy in Abu Dhabi in 2009, and the UAE establishing its embassy in Santiago in 2011.

My latest piece for The Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington argues that recent developments in Bahrain-China reflect less alignment and more coincidence of interests. The analysis traces various forms of engagement that ultimately represent lower-risk, higher-reward activities with differing incentive structures for Bahraini and Chinese actors.

💡How can we better utilise the expertise in developing countries and not only see them as receivers?   This question was raised by the Dominican Republic during the first members' meeting of 2024 in the Global Partnership Initiative (GPI) on Effective Triangular Cooperation.     🌎 I am currently leading the GPI on behalf of Norec and I am feeling inspired by the discussions. The GPI now has 22 active members, including countries and international organisations.   📣The GPIs mission is to bring together development stakeholders to promote and ensure that #triangularcooperation projects and initiatives are effective, country-led and involve inclusive partnerships for sustainable development.   🇧🇷The fact that Brazil’s presidency to the #G20 has chosen triangular/ #trilateralcooperation as one of three development priorities was an important topic for discussion. The #GPI sees it as an unique opportunity for more advocacy, to promote leadership from the south and to build broader alliances for more effective triangular cooperation.
