Home-Start Portsmouth has joined forces with The Roberts Centre and the Council to put on a family festival in Victoria Park this Saturday, 31 August, from 10am-4pm. The packed day will have entertainment, funfair rides, kid's activities, bouncy castles, face painting, crafts, games, food, tombola, raffles and community stalls. Have your say on a potential Travel and Transport Hub at Clarence Pier, Southsea. We're in the early stages of considering the development of a transport hub next to Clarence Pier in Southsea. This hub could create seamless travel experiences around the city, offering various transport options and facilities near the existing bus terminal. Possible features include improved travel information and facilities, as well as rental cycles and e-scooters. By promoting sustainable transport options, we aim to improve air quality and reduce congestion related issues throughout Portsmouth. 🌿 Take part in our online survey, open until midnight on Tuesday 24 September. Talking openly and honestly about suicidal thoughts and feelings can help save a life. Suicide First Aid Lite training aims to support anyone in gaining the confidence and knowledge needed to identify someone who may be thinking about suicide and how to help. “One of the best bits of being a foster carer is the relationship you develop with the children.” Foster carers Vicki and Kevin have cared for over 50 children, young people and siblings through respite care, short-term and emergency foster placements, supported lodgings, or parent and child arrangements. These included caring for newborns, teens and pre-teens, and children with additional needs for a period of just a few weeks up to 2 years. Our foster carers are able to find the right fit of fostering for them and their families whether that is a short-term or longer term arrangement until the child or young person is ready to live independently or be reunited with family. Vicki declared for anyone considering fostering: “Go for it!
