This strategic move is in an effort to demonstrate the notion of strength in unity. Both of our organizations encourage others to join the movement. Thank you

Another successful year for Canada’s largest non-financial co-operative. While this is good news for FCL (and a testament to another year of hard work and commitment by a dedicated team), the critically important aspect of the successnis the distribution of earnings to the local co-ops that own and support FCL. A $399 million injection of cash back into co-ops across Western Canada will be invested in new facilities and employment opportunities at the local level. But most importantly, those local co-ops will pass along similar profits to individuals co-op members in their communities. That kind of local reinvestment and profit sharing is a big part of what makes co-ops different. #cooperatives #localbusiness #profitwithpurpose
Today, delegates representing more than 160 local co-operatives from across Western Canada gathered for FCL’s 95th Annual Meeting. It was an opportunity to review the 2023 financial results, discuss the Co-operative Retailing System’s future, and elect FCL’s Board of Directors. “Sharing our financial success is one way we generate value for local Co-ops and the communities they serve. Through the distribution of our earnings, local Co-ops are able to pass the benefits on to Co-op members and communities across Western Canada. The value proposition of Co-op, when people support Co-op, they’re supporting their community,” CEO Heather Ryan explained during her address. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gwgN2TVv

I know the impact videos can make, so I create them. I do NOT look particularly polished and am far from perfect in my delivery. So how do I get myself to push "post"...? 🔹 Focus on the end goal: will this be beneficial for our organization? Yes. So we put it out there. 🔸 Done > Perfect: if I take too long recording it to "get it right" it'll likely be too late to get the information out, and that would be a disservice to the mission. 🔹 Teamwork: my team is giving me tips on how to SLOW DOWN and make modifications to how I create these, so over time, these videos will (hopefully) improve in quality. Bottom Line: we don't have to know everything to get started. We have to muster a little courage to do things outside of our comfort zone. Giving ourselves grace to improve with time & practice, we can enjoy the learning curve and congratulate ourselves on our progress. What have YOU put out there lately?

"Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has". Margaret Mead It was so good to see this post below. This is what happens when you take action, pursue your ideas with a passion and have a burning desire to succeed. I can't believe that it was only last Xmas when I shared an idea I had with a small group of local entrepreneurs to create a unique event for the Hertfordshire Business Community. The vision was to inspire small business owners to help them grow their businesses and The Hertfordshire Business Growth Show was born as a result. Less than a year later, that event has now been nominated for a unique business award. How did that happen? Well there's no secret ingredient to the success of this event. It all boils down to the fact that a small group of committed people (who all gave their time freely) took action to create something special for other business owners and then just got on with it! Tony Fields, Anna Peck, Michelle Stacey - it has been a pleasure to work with you all on this unique community initiative to support other business owners across Herts. You are all already award-winning people in my opinion so here's to creating an exciting and even bigger and better event in March 2024! And if you are reading this and want to know more you can register your interest for next year's event here - https://lnkd.in/eeDa6b7N #entrepreneurs, #businessevents, #stalbans, #hertfordshirebusiness, #awardwinning

Can you imagine reviewing 3,400 pieces of legislation in 90 days?!?! This is why working collaboratively is so critical to stay on top of things in Annapolis during Session.
1 of 6 - it takes a village An oft used phrase, but around here, we mean it. With ~ 3,400 bills introduced in Session this year, we need all the help we can get! Thank you to our Greater Ocean City, MD Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee, The Rasmussen Group, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, the MARYLAND TOURISM COALITION INC, and the Maryland Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives for helping us stay on top of what mattered during a busy Session this year. Thanks to Blue Water Marketing for capturing video of this event for us!
