Porsche Cars North America’s Post

Porsche Cars North America reposted this

This morning we’re announcing the best quarterly sales in PCNA’s history. In Q2 retail deliveries totaled 21,304 cars – a rise of 13% YoY – made possible by outstanding performances; for example, in June the 911 – the very core of Porsche – achieved its best month ever in the US!   Behind the numbers, there are many new and existing owners. If you’re reading this, and you’re one of them; thank you; and welcome, from each and every one of us at Porsche, to the beginning of what we hope will be a wonderful journey. Please know, supporting you is not only the team here at PCNA but also over 200 independently owned and operated Porsche Centers across America, each focused on the details to ensure your experience is every bit as special as your new car.   These results in Q2 go a long way to balancing out our supply-constrained Q1 – with our overall performance for H1 being just 4% behind where we were this time in 2023. With the first sales of the all-new, all-electric Macan due to begin this fall, to be joined by the new 911 Carrera and GTS before year end, and the new Panamera and new Taycan arriving in greater volume, the next months are already looking busy.   As ever, this has been a team effort – and I’m grateful to everyone, both here and in Germany (you know who you are!), who gave everything to support our customers. Fantastic results and absolutely deserved as Porsche cars are phenomenal to drive. It's just such a shame that the ownership experience and the brand is significantly compromised by the independently owned Porsche Centers. Certainly in my region, the service centers have the worst customer service and poorest technical support of any brand I know. On more than one occasion I've had to fix issues myself even though it's been "resolved" at the Porsche Center. If you're thinking about buying a Porsche, make sure you do your homework and research customer feedback on your local Porsche Center. Often there are passionate, knowledgeable, specialist local garages that can better take care of you.. because certainly my local Porsche Centers can't. I wouldn't trust them to service a manual pencil sharpener.

I find it so interesting how Porsche can sell nearly 1/2 to 2/3 as many 911s as Macan/Cayennes (separately, not total). Usually for other manufacturers, the SUVs/crossovers absolutely wash the sports cars in sales. Not really a knock on the Macan or Cayenne, more of a testament to the strength of the 911. Also, Porsche sells significantly more 911s than 718s. The higher end sports car selling more than the entry level. Wow.

TV & Streaming Ad Measurement for Disruptive Brands

Congrats Timo! I have a question about your record-breaking quarter. How much do you think TV and streaming ads helped with the success? There’s a way car brands connect ads to people who bought cars. I can share an example with you or someone at Porsche for the new "Change Everything" ad that started on June 10th. It already has 2.6 million impressions over 26 airings btw! Feel free to shoot me a message.

it would be nice if your N.A dealer network didn't gouge Additional Dealer Markups of $10,000's (in some cases $50-100k) more when selling some models (GT3, RS, GT4RS Spyder RS etc) ... that does nothing for customer loyalty or satisfaction... its hard enough to get an allocation of one only then to be robbed by the selling dealer ...

Congratulations Timo and the entire team at PCNA. Please do not eliminate the manual transmission on the 911!

It has been remarkable to see how PCNA has remained consistent in your growth and maintained a phenomenal product. What I noticed working with PCNA is your dedication to excellence at every point in the process. Working with PCNA is a pleasure and it shows in their service and product.

Timo Resch Congratulations! Hopefully with this data, you'll reconsider being too aggressive in the transition to EVs. The bark and burble of a Porsche motor is a visceral sensation that can never be duplicated with the whine of an EV, no matter how wild the acceleration. Unless of course you can free up an allocation of a Taycan Turbo GT for me, in which case... 😎
