Dr. James Peng, Pony.ai’s co-founder and CEO spoke in a keynote fireside chat at #MOVE2024 in London, UK yesterday to around 500 leading mobility industry executives. MOVE describes itself as “the world's number one tech mobility event, bringing together the people and companies redefining mobility.” James’ keynote fireside chat was moderated by Michael Dean, Global Head of Automotive Research at Bloomberg Intelligence. During James’ keynote fireside chat he talked about Pony.ai’s global expansion, especially the company’s focus on Europe and its recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. They also spoke about Pony.ai’s current fare-charging, fully driverless robotaxi operations in China and how autonomous vehicle technology is entering the commercialization era and mass production era, underscored by Pony.ai’s joint venture with Toyota and GAC Toyota. Through the joint venture, a fleet of a thousand robotaxis will be deployed in the first phase to provide fully driverless autonomous mobility services in Tier-1 cities across China.
