After unsuccessfully trying to play elusive, SBI furnished the electoral bonds donors and recipient political party data to ECI on 12th. The whole dataset should be on WCI website by tomorrow. The data is in two sets- for all donors when they purchased of what denominations and amount and for political parties, which party received how much on which dates and denominations. There is no link however which establishes who donated to whom. What happens now? My oped in the Quint summarising the electoral bonds saga so far and what might happen now. #subhashgarg #wealsomakepolicy #electoralbonds

https://lnkd.in/dB2GQukx The Waqf Board, also known as the State Waqf Board or Central Waqf Council, is a statutory body established by the Government of India under the Waqf Act, 1995. Waqf refers to the permanent dedication of property for charitable or religious purposes, as per Islamic law. The Waqf Board's primary objectives: 1. *Management of Waqf properties*: Oversee and manage Waqf properties, including mosques, dargahs, graveyards, and other charitable institutions. 2. *Protection of Waqf assets*: Protect Waqf properties from encroachment, misuse, or unauthorized sale. 3. *Promotion of education and healthcare*: Utilize Waqf resources to promote education, healthcare, and social welfare activities. 4. *Regulation of Waqf administration*: Regulate the administration of Waqf institutions, ensuring transparency and accountability. 5. *Dispute resolution*: Resolve disputes related to Waqf properties and administration. The Waqf Board's functions include: 1. Survey and registration of Waqf properties 2. Appointment of mutawallis (managers) for Waqf institutions 3. Supervision of Waqf administration 4. Financial management and auditing 5. Implementation of development schemes for Waqf properties There are State Waqf Boards in each state, and the Central Waqf Council is the apex body that oversees the functioning of all State Waqf Boards. In reality, it's not always the case when it comes to residential properties. The government's move to verify claims and disputes is more for transparency and rightful ownership; considering that the Board was created by the Government of India under the Waqf Act 1995.

Perhaps the 1st RTI after the SC’s historical judgement on Electoral Bonds, seeking the following information:- 1. The names of companies and individuals who have donated through electoral bonds, along with the exact amounts deposited by each entity from the inception of the scheme until the current date. 2. A comprehensive list of political parties that have received electoral bonds, including the exact amount received by each party from the initiation of the scheme until the present date. This RTI has been filed as I apprehend that SBI would provide the list as per the directions of the Hon’ble SC.

Idea 22 : MLA and MP funds spending should be made transparent on a website. MLAs and MPs get specified funds to help people in their constituencies and for Rajya Sabha members anywhere throughout the country. This amount is in crores. There should be an account of where this money is being spent. Also there should be a way for people to make a formal application for the funds which should be transparent. These amounts shouldn’t be left to arbitrary unguided discretion of the elected members. There should be some guidelines about what people/projects should be prioritised. And at least all of this should be transparent. So let there be a website chronicling all these details for all MLAs and MPs. This money that they are distributing is publish money and therefore accountability is a must. Elected people should not discriminate on grounds of religion, caste or use this money to save their vote bank alone but actually invest in projects that is for collective good. #100days100ideas

PRESS RELEASE GOVERNOR ENO AUTHORIZES RELEASE OF ADDITIONAL N1.4BN GRATUITIES In fulfillment of his campaign promise, His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, has authorized the immediate release of 1.4 billion Naira for further payment of gratuities. The breakdown of the payment is as follows: 900 million Naira for retired State Civil servants and 500million Naira for retired primary school teachers. The release of the additional 1.4 billion Naira brings the total amount of gratuities paid so far by the Governor, ten months after his inauguration to 16.1 billion Naira. Even though it is an acknowledged fact that gratuities are entitlements, but the courage to consistently release funds for the payment, further demonstrates the people- centric approach to governance by His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno. This gesture, will undoubtedly help our retirees cushion the harsh effects of the current economic situation in the country. Ekerete Udoh Chief Press Secretary to the Governor April 15, 2024.
