Over the past 10 days, Greece has been facing devastating wildfires. In response to this crisis, in the past week, six of our dedicated team members in Planetek Hellas have been working tirelessly day and night, collaborating with the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Hellenic Ministry for Climate Change & Civil Protection and local authorities. Their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in aiding the emergency response efforts. Yesterday, EUSI had the pleasure to host Sebastian Roloff, MdB for a stimulating discussion on the future of Earth Observation (EO) in Europe. We explored the ambitious plans for European autonomy, focusing on the potential risks and opportunities it presents for the European EO market and the European Innovation Culture. We toured the German Aerospace Center (DLR) where our 20 years of investments into the EUSI ground station have proven crucial for advanced remote sensing initiatives such as the ZKI and IFAS contributions to disaster response and public safety. While fully supporting Europe's drive for self-reliance, we believe open collaboration and diverse competition are key to fostering a thriving, innovative Earth Observation ecosystem. EUSI and Mr. Roloff share a deep concern for achieving Europe's objectives for security and sustainability through robust Earth Observation capabilities. We discussed the importance of leveraging all available expertise and resources from like-minded origins to achieve these shared goals. 🇪🇺 📣 We are thrilled to announce that Aldoria (formerly Share My Space) has been awarded a contract as part of the EU SST call for tenders on commercial data provision! 🌍🤝 The contracts awarded to Aldoria, along with seven other companies, have a budget of €15.7 million and a duration of two years. They will be signed in the coming weeks, marking the beginning of an exciting phase of cooperation with a dynamic ecosystem of industry and start-ups across Europe. 🛰️🔭 The European Union Space Surveillance and Tracking (EUSST) program was established in 2014 to ensure the long-term availability of Europe's space infrastructure by developing a network of ground-based sensors and national capabilities across the EU. 📈 Aldoria will contribute to the EUSST mission by leveraging our advanced network of proprietary sensors. Our cutting-edge technology will enhance EUSST's detection capabilities, expand coverage, and increase overall catalogue accuracy. This collaboration is crucial as the EUSST ambitions to increase the proportion of commercial data used from 5% to 50% by mid-2026.
