Field Photo Friday: Long time, no sea! 🌊 The office looked a little different for one of our survey crews. A project this week landed them in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. ⛴️ We hope everyone takes advantage of the warm weekend ahead! ☀️

Embracing the Autumn Vibes in the UK Ground Investigation Scene! 🌦 As the leaves change and the air gets crisper, there's something truly unique about conducting on-site ground investigations in the UK. Yes, there may be a bit more mud to contend with, but isn't that just an excuse to break out those stylish wellies and show off your "mud-chic" look? And who can forget the inevitable battle between your clipboard and the pesky gusts of wind? It's a challenge, but hey, it builds character! But in all seriousness, Autumn can bring its own set of challenges and opportunities. The softer ground can offer unique insights, and the changing conditions can impact your results. So embrace the season and make the most of it! What's your favourite part about conducting on-site ground investigations in the UK during Autumn? #groundinvestigations #siteinvestigation #geotechnical #drilling #piling

I’m excited to share a new issue brief: “New Public Lands Actions Turn the Page on Decades of Conflict and Mismanagement.” The short report outlines how a suite of complementary new actions from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) work together to ensure conservation, energy development, and outdoor recreation go hand in hand on U.S. public lands. Under the leadership of President Biden, Secretary Haaland, Director Tracy Stone-Manning, and Deputy Director Nada Wolff Culver, the BLM is taking major steps right now to turn the corner on a long history of conflict and mismanagement of nearly 250 million acres of America’s public lands. While some measures have garnered attention, their actual collective impact is underappreciated. But by crafting these policies together, the Biden administration is weaving together something much greater than the sum of its parts.

Land Surveying in Spring: Tips for Property Owners Spring is almost here! but surveying doesn't stop. Here's how property owners can prepare their land for a spring survey -Clear brush and debris from around your property, including the corner areas of fences where wind typically sweeps stuff into piles. -Clean up bushes, trees, and planters to help clear the way for us and our equipment! -Move any piles of logs or stacks of toys from around potential property lines and corners. This ensures we dont damage anything that might be in the way while we work. -Talk to your neighbors! Let them know your getting a survey done and to possibly expect us to be in and around their yards as well. 📋 #SpringSurveying #WarmingWeatherTips

The Salt Lake Climbers Alliance echoes the Access Fund’s plea! We need your help to stop the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service from implementing a new policy that could erase America’s most iconic climbing routes, including historic routes here in the Wasatch, and put our safety at risk. New draft policies from the federal agencies would classify fixed anchors as “prohibited installations” in wilderness areas. This new classification would apply to both new and existing anchors. Existing fixed anchors and fixed equipment may be retained pending completion of a Minimum Requirements Analysis, as funding and resources allow. The U.S. Forest Service also proposes restricting the establishment of new routes to "existing climbing opportunities" on non-wilderness lands.
