Very Cool this two Capt. from Malaysian Air, look at their pilot case. That's two colleague who have been friends since they were both in flying school. But there's something even cooler than that. Here they are at London Heathrow, flying an A 350-900. And these days, the hallmark of a modern airline is to have a fleet of new generation aircraft like A 350s or B 787s, which allows them to fly long distance point-to-point efficiently from home base to popular destinations with not too much potential passenger. Like this Malaysian Air flight, A 350 direct flight KL-London. This type of flight can charge expensive tickets because it can save time. And with a capacity of 286 pax, it is not difficult for each flight to get a load factor above 68% Break Even Point (BEP). Meanwhile, for our airline Garuda 🇮🇩 to fly direct flight JKT-London, the only option is by B 777 -300 aircraft with a capacity of 350 pax which must be very difficult to get a load factor above BEP for each flight. So, even though I had intended to fly a direct flight to London from JKT, it couldn't be happen, and I may need to fly from KL 😁

True but most legacy carriers with the most capacity are already recognizing the different fare buckets by segmenting their fare. On DL I can choose Basic Economy for lowest no frills fare (no advance seats, no mileage accrual etc) or book Main which includes all those. You'll always have cheapies wanting the absolute deal, whether they understand the limitations or not. Yes more bundling will become more attractive but it will be no different than what I see out there right now. Having said this, I agree with Peter that it is a circle and the pendulum will swing to differentiate products over time. BTW Delta just had record Q2 earnings with their fare model in place. Not an incentive for now to change their segmentation approach. Plus frequent flyer programs award plenty benefits ie upgrades, advance boarding etc. and those pax are usually profitable whereas lowest fares are simply marginal revenues to top off load factors at lowest unit profits....
Free seat selection included...but you better pay! This is a seat map of a transcon. flight on a fare that includes a free seat selection. Up to row 26 is premium/comfort. While window & aisle seats in rows 27 to 33 (maybe even farther?) are considered preferred. My main disappointment here is twofold: 1. Illusionary free seat selection 2. Half of the main cabin is blocked as preferred seats An aisle seat with standard legroom in row 33 costing 50$ extra 😏 Should there be a logical limitation to what can be sold as ancillary? I ended up booking a different flight on another airline, where I could actually choose my seat. #airlineindustry #aviation #airlines

Sales & Business Development Manager | Facilitating the transition to Digital Rail & Transit with next generation Fiber Optics
Continuing with the series "unique aircraft liveries", I was lucky to spot this LATAM Brazil Star Wars “Galaxy’s Edge” Boeing 777-300ER. Not a #starwarsfan but very keen to follow customized liveries which I believe are a great "mobile" city-hopping marketing tool, especially among high income people. Keep wondering why these unique liveries are not used more often. They are certainly expensive, time-consuming and tend to be in the air (ie, unseen) most of the time but continue to believe they have much more of an impact than the regular, cheesy kind of ad.. BONUS Question: which airport is this? #airlines #marketing #businesstravel #aviation #starwars #latamairlines

And once again we are in the summer flight schedule. This year, too, there are some curious highlights that we would like to shed light on over the next few days. I can think of four very bizarre flight operations off the top of my head: Austrian has chartered three ATR72-600s on wet lease from BRA to fly to Klagenfurt, Kosice and Leipzig from Vienna, as well as some other schedule pairs. The former CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech has retired the Dash Q400 recently and now turboprops are needed again. The addition of Bremen is also surprising, after Germania, Ryanair and Wizzair recently failed on the route. The same thing has already happened in Billund and Austrian has left this route again. Even more bizarre is SATA. The state-owned airline from the Azores planned new transatlantic routes to Porto and Madeira with A321Ns last year. These were recently switched to a Boeing 767 with 40% more capacity in wet lease. Routes include Funchal-Toronto or Porto-Boston, where one really wonders whether a loss-making regional airline needs a high-density widebody. EuroAtlantic has an extremely rare LOPA of 2-4-2 in the 767. Even stranger than Austrian or Azores Airlines is Aeroflot. More on this later this week. Chief Ground Instructor at Miami Dade College Eig-Watson School of Aviation for the FAA Part 141 Pilot courses and FAA Part 65 Dispatcher Courses.
Calculating the wrong V-speeds by using erroneous data for density altitude and aircraft weight can result in a tailstrike. Also incorrect T.O. power settings may cause or contribute to tailstrikes. You will learn about this in a good FAA approved Aircraft Dispatcher class.

Incident Details! 👉 The aircraft continued its climb-out despite the tailstrike. 👉 It dumped fuel to reduce weight. 👉 Made a safe return to the airport 70 minutes later. Tailstrikes are usually caused by performance input or calculation errors. 🔹️ As we wait for the investigators to uncover the details, this serves as a stark reminder of the complexities and risks involved in aviation. #tailstrike #landing #Airport #runway #aircraft #aviationsafety 📹 Airlinepilot.

Hello TAP Air Portugal and Luis Rodrigues in the name of the passengers of flight TP1205 heeeeeelp! We have been locked inside an aeroplane parked at Warsaw Chopin Airport for 4 hours and 20 minutes now and I thought I would bring it to your attention. There has been a confluence of various delays and captain’s messages, but none of the promises of departure materialised so far. This flight should have left Warsaw at 1 pm local time and it’s now 5:16 pm. I don’t know if the problem lies within your subcontractor GetJet Airlines or if it’s your own issue but we are tired, hungry, distressed and would need assistance beyond a glass of water offered several hours into our unplanned aircraft jail term. I also wanted to share that coming here from Lisbon on Monday (on TP1204) was accompanied by a 2.5 hour delay. I thought that was quite unacceptable as I came here on business but I didn’t know that sky truly was the limit as far as delays were concerned. Maybe GetJet is not the optimal strategic partner for TAP. I don’t know. Happy to contribute consumer insight based on two flights completed this week. Brand is brand. Just sayin’. Ps. Update: at 5:30 local time and 4.5 hours after scheduled takeoff we are taxing to the runway or so we hope. pps. Update 2: I am on the bus to the terminal in Lisbon at 8:39 pm 4.5 h after scheduled arrival.
