🐒 Fun Fact: the benefits of the Green Deal will not hit the ground by itself. While the #NZIA and #CRMA are crucial initial steps to ensure the Green Deal benefits people, businesses, and the climate, they require a complementary initiative: a robust European Net-Zero Investment Plan ( #NZIP). In a recent publication, we present a comprehensive overview of 30 investment priorities for sustainable transport, spanning seven main areas. Today, we delve into one of these areas: Off-road Infrastructures, covering 4 of the 30 priorities and an estimated share of 18.9% of investement needs. - Rail network🚆, right Carlos Corts Díaz? - Multimodal hubs 🔄 - Public transports 🚋 isn't that your area, Lucie Petersen - Harbours ⚓ we did not forget that Tommaso Spanevello Curious about the other 25 priorities to make the Green Deal a reality? Last month at #EUSEW2024, we had the opportunity to hear from diverse, European leading manufacuters of #sustainabletransport solutions. Rail transport is often the forgotten yet indispensable peice of the puzzle to decarbonise transport. Nicolas Erb, director at Alstom, told us more about what can be done at policy level to ensure rail transport remain the most energy efficient mode of transport. While it is a never-ending task, Nicolas mentioned three steps: 1/ Support R&D to design electric trains more competitive than diesel ones, notably digitalisation to optimise energy efficiency 2/ Ensure availability of green steel and green aluminium to decarbonise productions 3/ Have public authorities to include energy efficiency as a criteria in public tender (Re)watch the full conference here: https://lnkd.in/e2MDk5zW

At #EUSEW2024, we explored groundbreaking insights from leaders in the EV, battery, train, and e-bike sectors. Their diverse priorities and innovative ideas aim to accelerate the decarbonization of transport and transport industries. One key takeaway? The united call for stable and ambitious regulations, highlighted by Julia Poliscanova (she/her): 🌍 "Industries and NGOs are united to underline the importance of stability of ambitious regulations, such as the 2035 zero emissions car target." 🔗 (Re)watch the full conference here: https://lnkd.in/e2MDk5zW #Electromobility #SustainableTransport #EV #Decarbonization #EU2035

The #powergrid is electromobility's next frontier. 👷 As the adoption of electric vehicles (#EVs) increases, it becomes imperative to step up our efforts to achieve their seamless integration – and related charging infrastructure – into the existing power grid. While the development of electric mobility is a significant asset to a clean energy system, it nevertheless raises questions over the management of power grids and connected charging infrastructure. The Platform for Electromobility thus proposes a series of three webinars to analysis, debate and propose solution to ensure a smooth integration of electromobility into the grid. The webinar series, titled "Trilogy for the Grid", will consist of three concise sessions, each focusing on crucial aspects of the topic. The objectives of these sessions include raising awareness of challenges, provide policy solutions at EU level, and fostering discussions between stakeholders and policy makers to lead to actionable solutions. Each session will feature three expert interviews, audience Q&A sessions, and remarks from a representative of the European Commission. Episode 1 | 12th September ⚡ https://lnkd.in/giMt4ZWK "Solutions for a smooth integration of emobility into the grid" - moderated by Paul Wilczek Episode 2 | 19th September 🚚 https://lnkd.in/gurZuSZX "Solutions for grid-friendly roll-out of electric heavy duty vehicles" - @Moderated by Kim Johanna B. The successful deployment of V2X technology requires coherence, decisive actions, and strong political ownership at the EU level. It's crucial to ensure alignment across Member States, EU legislation, and various levels of governance. Our latest publication emphasizes the importance of coherence, actions, and political ownership in driving the future of V2X. 📘 Notably: 1️⃣ Coherence across Member States 2️⃣ Alignment across EU legislations and regulations (some like Fabian Sperka will even call for a comprehensive Bidirectional Act) 3️⃣ Coordination between levels of governance, and notably local authorities, (right Pedro Gomes?) 📝 Read the full publication here: https://lnkd.in/eJRDVapp #V2X #Electromobility #EUlegislation #SustainableTransport #EuropeanGreenDeal #SmartCharging #EnergyEfficiency #Innovation
