Students use PIX4Dreact to learn photogrammetry by planning drone flights, capturing images, and processing them to create 2D maps. This helps identify spaces and buildings, enhancing situational awareness. For example: ➡️ Immediate area assessment: swiftly generate informative 2D maps ➡️ Enhanced coordination: ensures a shared understanding of the area/ situation ➡️ Offline processing: PIX4Dreact generates maps without needing an internet connection, enabling situational awareness even in remote or disconnected locations. Once the maps are created, they can be easily shared to PIX4Dcloud for broader accessibility and collaboration. UAVaid and I-CONIC Partnership for Drone Mapping and Emergency Assessment. In a significant stride towards speeding up the emergency response to large-scale disasters and global development in remote areas, UK-based drone specialist UAVaid team up with I-CONIC Vision to develop solutions that will provide responders and NGOs with faster creation of large maps and Rapid Area Modelling. Typically, current methods can take days to create large 3D digital models of the landscape. However, with this partnering of technologies, near real-time assessments will become a reality, significantly enhancing emergency response to ultimately save more lives and speeding up the delivery of development projects. This dynamic partnership harnesses the synergies of UAVaid's drone technologies and established presence, and I-CONIC Vision’s near real-time 3D processing software. Daniel Ronen, co-founder of UAVaid Ltd., expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "This partnership marks a significant milestone in our mission to leverage technology for the betterment of society. By integrating our expertise with I-CONIC's, we aim to revolutionize disaster response, making it faster, more efficient, and ultimately more life-saving." Mikael Stern, CEO of I-CONIC Vision, echoed the sentiment, saying, "We are excited to join hands with UAVaid in this transformative venture. Their aerial drones and rural-context experience are the ideal platforms for partnering with our unique software technology.” #realtime3D #photogrammetry #realtimemapping #computervision #realtimephotogrammetry #videogrammetry #drones #HAPS #rescueoperations #firstresponders #disastermanagement #3Dvideo #drones #dronevideo #realtimemapping #droneinspection #dronemapping #UAV #UAVaid

Some of the key benefits of using drone to track the progress of construction projects 1 - Drones can rapidly, effectively, and safely gather precise, real-time data that can be effortlessly shared and distributed among all essential parties, whether they are internal or external stakeholders. 2 -They offer significant savings in manpower hours, minimise health and safety hazards, identify potential problems at an early stage, prevent and assist in resolving possible disagreements with contractors, and collect a broad array of precise visual data swiftly. 3 - One standout advantage of employing drones in tandem with specialised flight planning software is the ability to reproduce each output precisely, allowing for accurate data comparison across different timelines. There are several different outputs and solutions a drone can create, one of them being Detailed And Accurate Orthomosaic Maps The maps can have hundreds of individual photographs, which are seamlessly joined together by our software to display an extremely detailed and precise map of the entire site. While a standard map offers approximately 1.4cm/px resolution, in contrast, Google Earth generally provides a resolution of about 15cm/px. In addition to the ability to observe the complete site and zoom in on any specific area of interest, each unique image is available for review and can be downloaded as needed. These maps also facilitate taking measurements across the site, including distances, heights, and volumes. Here is a short video showing what an ortho map looks like and how it can be used Read the full case study: https://lnkd.in/euYu-JAx #drones #dronephotography #dronevideo #dronesinconstruction #construction #constructionindustry #dronemapping #dronesurveying #dronesurvey #dronesurveys DroneDeploy Dronelink

Last week, our team gathered for a lunchtime status report and demo of SUPERSTRUCTURES’ drone-based “reality capture,” conducted by the firm’s partners and Tech studio. Since our founding 40 years ago, we’ve dreamed of photographically capturing a building’s facade, creating a “digital twin,” and bringing it back to the office for inspection, analysis, and formulation of a restoration strategy. That dream is becoming a reality thanks to the advent of drones equipped with high-resolution cameras and navigation controls that can fly a consistent distance from the building’s face and capture the overlapping images required for an inspectable model. Photogrammetry software and large-screen, high-resolution monitors complete the picture. And perhaps most critically, permitted drone flights recently became legal in NYC. SUPERSTRUCTURES has used drones extensively outside the city, but now we expect our drone use to “take off,” so to speak. Drone imagery makes our analysis sharper and our restoration documents better. We can see conditions that are otherwise inaccessible or invisible and be more confident in our solutions and scope. Projects experience fewer change orders that impact cost or schedule. The clarity of our most recent models has left clients viewing them literally speechless. More posts to follow, including video tours and demos. #drones #photogrammetry #buildinginspection #restoration

How Drones in construction add value - Day 5: Expedited contract reconciliation When it comes to agreeing on sizes of stockpiles and amounts of earth moved in a certain period, it’s much easier to do with more exact measurements. This is what drones offer. Thanks to high-resolution payloads and photogrammetry software, millions of data points cover each stockpile and surface, offering much more precise volume and progress analytics. Imagine daily views, and you start to get an idea of how this prevents long discussions at the reconciliation phase. Owners, contractors and subcontractors are all starting to rely on drone data to compare site activities. Those who don’t, have less to bring to the table. Those who do, simply pull up the files, flip through the days, display measurements and prove or disprove the claims. ROI insight: On busy construction sites with tight deadlines, the last thing you want to spend time on is on disputed claims of work done and earth moved. With regular frequent drone data snapshots of the worksite, everything is on record, accurate and available at the click of a point on the screen. A new feature in DJI Terra helps to speed up the process of marking ground control points while processing drone survey photogrammetry data - leading to time-savings of more than 90% in some cases. Using this functionality, manually tie a GCP once, and Terra will then automatically mark the corresponding GCP in other images collected during the survey. The below examples show the efficiency gains of using automatic GCP marking in DJI Terra: • 2D mapping project over 11,120 acres, with 30 GCPs: Use Terra's auto-identify feature to mark 12 photos per GCP in 5 minutes, compared to 53 minutes to manually mark 10 photos for each GCP = 91% time-saving. • 3D mapping project over 3,700 acres, with 100 GCPs: Auto-identify 32 photos for each GCP in 20 minutes, compared to 5 hours 30 minutes to manually mark 20 photos for each GCP = 94% time-saving. Click the link below to read our blog to find out more about the automatic GCP marking feature and for a workflow guide to complete the process. https://lnkd.in/eNGQZUwY #drones #surveying #mapping #photogrammetry #dataprocessing #gcp #djienterprise

Photogrammetry: Photogrammetry is the process of extracting information from photographs. This process involves taking overlapping photographs of an object, structure, or space, and converting them into 2D or 3D digital models. At MUTIDRONES LLC, we do this by using a drone to capture the photographs. This makes the process much more efficient given the drones capability to fly a pre-planned flight path and capture the images from the sky. Below is a sample of a 2D and 3D map from a land mass in eastern San Diego by Pine Valley bridge. https://lnkd.in/gi44BKJE #drones #photogrammetry #dronedeploy #mapping
