This #3DMonday, we feature "The Articulated Wall," one of Denver's major landmarks located at the Denver Design Center in Colorado, USA. Galloway & Company, Inc. used this rapid scanning exercise to explore the capabilities of the linework tools within #PIX4Dsurvey. Technical details 🛠️ Using a Leica RTC360 scanner, they scanned and processed the data, then imported it into PIX4Dsurvey. It took 1 hour to create the linework and 30 minutes to produce the video. 📏🎥 Experience PIX4Dsurvey firsthand: https://hubs.li/Q02H5kMc0

Not sci-fi, but technology convergence. The smartphone's camera capabilities (lidar) combined with the RTK for position and the Pix4D software to bring it all together. Now at a price point where such a device could be in every excavator just next to the cup holder. It is only a matter of time before this is the standard way to document and gather these vital data. Any society will benefit hugely from having rich datasets on its subsurface infrastructure. Hello future. #pix4d

I’ve been getting more familiar with the scanning functions of the Leica MS60 Nova multistation. I wish I had one of these when I was collecting data in the field! Ask yourself and your crews: how many times have you come upon something in the field and think “ok, how am I going to measure this??” The ability to capture complex structures with MS60 scans can save measurement time in the field and drawing time later in the office.

Introducing the Standard Layer… The Standard Layer is the UMS component which most clearly encompasses the evolution of the openFrame over time. The name reflects the fact that it is the core building block of newer openFrame systems. It is the standard and it sets standards: ✅ Versatility - the Standard Layer can serve as the input layer for epi illumination, output layer for cameras or other detectors, as well as a beam splitting or merging layer, creating so many possibilities. ✅ Reliability - filter cubes firmly snap into place in the internal cube cage, ensuring reliable positioning of the optical elements in the central optical path. ✅ Precision - the highly performant tip-tilt adjustment of the internal cube holder makes sub-pixel registration of different layers easy. Ready to build an openFrame microscope or many other optical systems, the Standard Layer forms part of the UMS core. #fluorescence #microscopy #openframe
