May is Mental Health Awareness Month DOE's UCOR is addressing through an onsite Mental and Behavioral Health Program Manager DOE Workforce News. May 26, 2024, May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a national observance started in 1949 to bring attention to the importance of mental well-being. Despite recent strides, many Americans still lack access to high-quality mental health care. Consider these statistics about mental health in the United States: - 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year. - Only 47.2% of U.S. adults with mental illness received treatment in 2021. - 1 in 20 U.S. adults experiences severe mental illness each year. - Only 65.4% of U.S. adults with serious mental illness received treatment in 2021. - 1 in 6 U.S. youth have a mental health condition, but only half receive treatment. - 50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, and 75% by age 24. To address this in the occupational setting, DOE's Oak Ridge Clean-up contractor, UCOR, has hired a Mental and Behavioral Health Program Manager. 🌟 A Mission Greater than Ourselves: Embracing Care and Compassion 💛 At the heart of our journey at Embark Behavioral Health lies a compelling purpose – to align our team's goals with a greater vision that drives meaningful impact, seeking to reduce adolescent teen and young adult anxiety, depression and suicide from all-time highs to all-time lows. As we navigate this mission through effective treatment and raising awareness of our care through marketing, we understand that purposeful leadership is about more than just achieving individual objectives. It's about inspiring a shared vision, one that ignites passion and camaraderie within our team, resulting in loved ones nationwide receiving the care and support they truly need. Keeping focused on the greater mission helps us work with purpose, and lead from a place of compassion for those we impact. Here are some questions I ask myself when I notice myself forgetting the impact of my job, and the greater mission at play. • What's the outcome of my/our work? • Whose lives are being transformed by the actions I'm/we're taking? • What gives this high-effort project purpose? • Why am I/we feeling this way? Every campaign, every message, and every interaction becomes an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health, and in turn, their families and generations to come. ⁉ I would love to hear: How do you keep focused on the greater mission of your job? Have you found this difficult to do sometimes? Embark Behavioral Health #CreateJoyHealGenerations #MentalHealthcare #mentalhealthawareness #leadingwithpurpose #leadingwithempathy

Members of the Gallatin Behavioral Health Coalition are tirelessly working together to enhance mental health and substance use services available across Gallatin County. No one provider can do it all - it takes a team of dedicated professionals to serve our community’s behavioral health needs! We’ve made a lot of progress over the past year. While there is still a long way to go and many exciting projects in the pipeline, we’d like to share some of our successes. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 Bozeman Help Center, our local 988/crisis line provider, gives real-time access to a live person every moment of every day for anyone who is in crisis, having suicidal thoughts, in emotional distress, or concerned about someone. They answer an average of 300 behavioral health calls a month. They are able to stabilize and de-escalate 75% of those who call them. Using the caller’s own strengths, support systems, the robust 211 and mental health database, and the Help Center’s crisis follow-up services –their work reduces demand on other community services. For the other 25%, callers are referred to community and medical services. A very small percentage involve the need to call 911. For 24/7 help, you can reach the Help Center at 988 or 406-586-3333.
