#DHIS2 #healthcaredata #digitalhealth #HISP #dataforchange I came across this interesting paper by Elaine Byrne and Johan Ivar Sæbø while browsing for Inspiration for my current DHIS2 data analysis work. I was amazed to read in this scoping review that despite widespread adoption of DHIS2 for health data management in LMICs, there is limited evidence of its actual use for decision-making. The paper discusses while data collection and reporting are common, details on how it informs actions at different levels and translates into program improvements are scarce. Studies tend to focus on data products like reports and dashboards, neglecting the analysis process and specific data use by different stakeholders. The review encourages better documentation and analysis of how DHIS2 data drives real-world actions and translates into better health outcomes. I also believe research should focus on documenting successful data use cases and exploring why wider documentation isn't done. https://lnkd.in/ehVkgKeb
