Why don’t we open-source our #SAS macros? Great question – Atorus just did! During the keynote at PHUSE US Connect by Ross Farrugia and Michael Rimler, this was a question that came up when talking about collaboration around #rstats in pharma. We’ve seen such growth in the open-sourcing, sharing of code, and collaboration across companies. Solving problems together, instead of going it alone is welcomed and accepted. But why don’t we share our SAS macros? There are a lot of excuses for not sharing, whether it’s that our macros are too company specific, or maybe that it’s just not the programmer culture. At Atorus, #opensource is the key value driver at the center of our innovative and collaborative culture – so why not?
