For a Biostatistician, in addition to obvious technical skills and education, effective scientific/regulatory communication is another very important skill. As a Biostatistician, one communicates with doctors / biologists / researchers in specific domains, as well as with other stakeholders in companies and institutions. Biostatisticians often play a key role in planning, managing and implementing different projects. From communicating with management departments to communicating web developers, statistical programmers and data engineers, biostatisticians need to understand all these different domains to be able to integrate with such workflows. Frequently clients in Pharmaceutical industry may have specific regulatory frameworks and this also includes Biostatistical angles in decision making processes. When publishing research results, Biostatisticians are also frequently the key persons to communicate or provide relevant information to reviewers, both domain based reviewers and sometimes statistics based reviewers regarding the data, methodology and results presented in the manuscripts. Finally, last but not least, Biostatisticians are often the key persons in communicating research results with the audience in Life Science domains.
