🚀 Helping exceptional recruiters start, run & develop their own recruitment agencies through our effective recruitment startup support model • Isotope 🟨 •
6 years of trading ✅ 29% revenue growth vs 2022 ✅ 100% candidate retention ✅ Employee landmarks hit ✅ New hires welcomed in ✅ Safe to say 2023 has been a good year for the Clinical Selection - Medical Devices, Life Science, Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Recruitment team. Hats off to James & the wider team for everything they've done this year & I know I speak on behalf of the wider Isotope team when I say what a pleasure it's been to work in & around the business this year. Here's to 2024 📈 & beyond. #recruitmentstartup #recruitmentinvestment #recruitmentbusinesssupport #recruitmentbusinesssetup #businesstips #recruitmentstartuptips
As Christmas and the new year draw ever closer (and I frantically scramble to do my Christmas shopping with only a few days to go), it's time to look back on 2023 at Clinical Selection - Medical Devices, Life Science, Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Recruitment. This has been our sixth year trading and our most successful to date. The team achieved 29% revenue growth vs 2022, and increased placements by a similar amount, demonstrating the continued success of Samuel Jones and Jack Marsh as they enter their third year with us. We have 100% retention of candidates placed in 2023, representing a high quality service for our clients. We welcomed Dominic Clawson to the team as a senior consultant and overhauled our client engagement processes with a view to increased growth. There is a lot to look forward to in 2024: plans for headcount growth, implementing AI into our workflow and investment into new technology. It's been a tough year in recruitment and I couldn't be prouder of the team here for achieving substantial growth despite challenging UK market conditions. They continue to prove that knowledge led, specialist headhunting is the gold standard in recruitment practice. Finally a big thank you to Max Jones and the team at Isotope Capital for their support, and to Dan Birkitt-Smith and Mark Hopkins for their continued advice and market insights.

It breaks my heart every time… HR/CEO: “Sorry, we’ve already gone retained on the clin dev search” Me: “And how’s that been coming along?” …. long pause HR/CEO: “Well… it’s going a little slow” *we proceed to take our passive but interested board-certified oncologists/neurologists/hematologists to the competition* It’s tough to break the illusion that a retained search is a better search. There are a lot of cons if you go with the wrong firm. (That’s not to say there aren’t a lot of pros if you go with the right one). That’s why we’ve had great success offering a two-week contingent period with the option to go retained/exclusive after. And you know what? We haven’t had to go retained once and end up exclusive anyway. After those two weeks, our clients have found that: - We already have/know the talent - The speed and efficiency in which the process is moving doesn’t leave room for another agency - We are in it together to the end (happily so) - We run a smooth and thorough recruitment process Maybe ask your next retained firm to do the same. See what “Top (10) Talent” they can conjure up in that two weeks. Might surprise you. #talentacquisition #executivesearch #biotech #pharmaceutical

Although the second half of 2024 is anticipated to be promising for job stability in the US, the pressure to reduce R&D spending, controlled market expansion, surprise callouts of M&A deals, costly pipeline failures, strategic product portfolio assessment and adjustments, and most importantly the geo-political and economic conditions are continuing to trigger lay-offs. Let's hope for a speedy market recovery that benefits the entire pharma ecosystem and its professionals. https://lnkd.in/gwH5Y4J7
